Anyone doing it this year? I can't, too busy. I'm really hoping to next year though since I will not, if there is any justice in the universe, be taking a class next November.

Not to nit pick, but shouldn't a relatively literary site display their dates in a properly fashion?

For the record, I don't think pressuring people to write a novel in a month is a good idea. A short story? Maybe. 95% of good novels take time. Pressuring people will reduce the quality of an otherwise better story.

haha, it's just for fun! It's basically a month long, free form, writing exercise. It can then be used as an editable START for something more, or a large piece to wittle down to a short story.

It's not like you bet money on it or something for christsakes!

I'm more inclined to screenplays, not novels. Oddly enough, last night I was feeling the urge to start that up again.

So...write a screenplay. They don't care if you write a 50,000 word epic poem. It's not like you even have to let anyone else read it. It's a game to encourage progress and overcome writer's block.

Pretty soon you could get a quick job writing TV scripts.

I would consider participating if people didn't call it "NaNoWriMo."

I registered last year and didn't even make it a third of the way. I'll register again and let's see if I do better this time around.

I'm trying it this year. I have absolutely no characters, no plot, no overall moral, nothing. Should be an absolute blast.

Anyway, it's not supposed to produce works of literary genius, it's more for getting ideas out on paper and just having fun.
