On a side note, how this came about was over skype. The whole "zomg Asylum" topic came up and I basically said "the asylum isn't bad if you don't get butthurt."
Then other skype stuff happened, like BT cybering me up.

The secret to posting in the asylum is all in how you approach it. You either post when and where you will, and make anythign that comes of it your own, or you don't, and you end up in OOT. If you think you are an asylumite, you aren't. if you KNOW you are an aasylumite, then you are, and no one can take that from you.

I hate to agree with the After School Sermon that Kao posted, but it's true.
There are lots of posters in the OOT that could easily contribute to making the Asylum a better place for all of us to live in, what with their witty anecdotes and insighful insights.
Well, when I say "lots", I mean "some".
And by "some", I mean "a few".
But at least, you'll never be the worst poster. Between varus and shadow, the benchmark is really quite low.

I'm fine with that. I never really wanted to post here in the first place. (but kinda sorta b/c I think some people here are swell--not b/c it was the big bad asylum). I think that the on-ramp to the SS. Asylum sailed along time ago. But I do admit that it's not a good idea to be so indiscriminate in who you exclude since you are killing your own membership, either that or that is your schtick and maybe I should play along.

That and I do like the majority of Asylumites. Or rather, I prefer most of the Asylumites who come over to most of the OOT whom I post with all the time. It's just I'm not sure how you can be elitist and count Katie among your ranks at the same time. You know. Cause no one has explained that to me yet.

Let's clarify the whole OMGAsylum thing. Exo thinks the OOT is too stupid for me to post in and I should post in the Asylum. I said, "I don't think the asylumites want new posters--they've known each other for years" And then he gets cracked up and starts talking about butthurt and I said, "Exo, I'm 36 years old. I don't want to have to spend anything proving myself to people on the internet." Like Bodhisattva has the non-specific thought process and unformed frontal cortex of someone barely out of their teenage years , so it makes sense that he is interested in verbal sparring for no reason. Me--not so much.
I'm not sure where he went with that but I think he thought the OOT sucked--it wasn't an OMG Asylum talk. I think he's had so many, he just went there with that thought.
