EVERY other European nation tends to speak at least one non-native language and acknowledge that other countries have differences in what's socially acceptable.
Most Brits I know speak no other language ("If they don't understand English, it's because you're not shouting loud enough"), and get ***** if the Brasserie/Trattoria/Taverna doesn't serve warm ale and fish'n'chips.

I always thought the Germans were regarded as classless pieces of shit amongst Europeans, next to Amercians of course.
Perhaps, this is the result of another colossal failure by the B.D.A., otherwise known as the British Dental Association, to provide every man, woman and child with a toothbrush.
