Hell, even I watched the game last night. Good times, until my husband got mad at me for cheering the Sox because they usually kill the Jays.

I tried getting tickets to game 3 or 4. They were only being sold on-line, and about 3 minutes before 10am when they went on sale I started getting the page cannot be displayed when attempting to enter the queue.

I guess I'll be watching from my buddy's house, or maybe I'll venture to a local sports pub for the festivities.

Was there some sort of baseball game last night? I was busy watching Desperate Housewives.

Go Colorado!!

They are on a hot streak. Or so I'm told anyway, I really don't have time to watch minor league baseball. Get all of your "we didn't have enough monies wah!!!!" excuses in order now, kids.

I don't think anyone will have to, because money doesn't win championships; pitching and defense do. Now speaking realistically, non-sarcastically and without an investment in either team, I can't believe the Sox are 2-1 favorites.

Beckett will be their only favorable picthing match up. Schilling won't appear at Coors Field, because he gets hit too much. I don't think he'll be much better at Fenway. Daisuke is a joke. He's terrified of major league hitters. Wakefield in Colorado is probably even worse than Schilling. Add in the fact that Colorado is the best defensive team in the history of the league, and it's obvious they should be the odds on favorites.

Just don't see it happening. I'm tempted to call it a sweep for the Rockies, but giving the Sox two more great performances from Beckett, I'll take Colorado in six.

I entered the raffle for the opportunity to get Playoff tix, but was not selected.

And as I need to pay rent this month, I will not be spending a grand on standing room only tickets.

I may try and go to the Cask & Flaggin' Wednesday morning. I figure 11am may be early enough to get in before it's at capacity.

Hi. They play in the NATIONAL LEAGUE. It's a joke. They have zero chance. In all honesty it'll be boring for Red Sox fans, because the World Series was really just won. All that's left is a victory lap

Here is what will happen. Becket will be Beckett and the Red Sox will win game 1 7 to 2. The Rockies will realize they're in the world series and decide that's good enough and collapse. Schilling will have a mediocre game where and win 8-6. The Rockies will rally for one win in Colorado, probably beating up on an unfortunate middle reliever, likely Del Carmen. Wakefield will have a great game, and the Red Sox will win in five with the Rockies looking like they completely gave up in the last game.

Sorry. Pin your hopes on the Colts staying with 20 of the Pats next week for any catharsis about how fantastic it is to be a Boston sports fan right now.

I did all my celebrating last night and was able to lord it over my brother, who was happy enough that Cleveland knocked out New York.

I imagine the Tigers must have felt exactly the same last year.

You're right about Beckett. He's the only sure thing for Boston. Schilling will get abused in game two, not just a mediocre outing. His stuff is far too hittable these days. He'll be lucky to make it four innings. Assuming Daisuke pitches the first game in Colorado, this will be the blowout that sells everyone on the Rockies. Daisuke won't be able to rely on the Rockies to chase pitches. They just don't do it, and he'll end up giving up seven in the first two innings and overworking an already weak bullpen. If you think Wakefield could have a great game in Colorado, you've clearly never seen a knuckleball at altitude. He'd be better off pitching underhand. If Schilling drops game two, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Beckett again here, instead of Wakefield, and one has to wonder how many times the kid can go on three days. I wouldn't be surprised if he won this one, too. Unfortunately, he's the only Boston pitcher that matches up well.

Have you actually watched and of the past 22 games Colorado has been in? I ask because twice you allude to the idea that they're going to be complacent or overwhelmed. This team is unconcious right now. They're on the greatest run in the history of the game. But hey, you're right, they're more likely to grow complacent or to surrender than a team boasting superstars like Manny.

Yup, because in real life, the Red Sox win. In a Disney movie, the Rockies would be a lock. The plucky overachieving band of lovable rogues gets their asses handed to them.

Sorry :(

Honestly, not a Rockies' fan, but I can't wait till you're ******** about how miserably Boston's pitching failed them. Of course, you'll be equally angered by the amount of runners they leave on.

Hey, last time I checked, Boston won their first World Series in 76 years while a movie was being made about them. I've even theorized that the Yankees won't win another WS until they get their own movie - and no, The Bronx is Burning doesn't count.

Right, because that'll magically continue because the Red Sox are so terrible at driving in runs. I think my main difficulty will be not laughing out loud at Fox trying to sell the Rockies as having any sort of chance.

Heh, I'm just glad you agree that Boston's pitching will look pathetic against a team with some discipline at the plate.

Wakefields out.

Lookin' like Lester will start game 4.

Just as telling is the fact that they even wanted him to go in game two. It's basically a confession that they knew he would have been ineffective in Colorado, and equally condemning in that it reveals that Schilling is obviously exhausted, and they believe he's even more hittable than he's been lately.

Maybe they can have Beckett go on two days' rest.
