Iowa Republicans Move Primary to Jan 3Follow

Quote:
Iowa Republicans on Tuesday advanced their presidential caucuses to Jan. 3 in an effort to retain their first-in-the-nation status, but state Democrats gave no indication on whether they would make the same move, pick another day or adhere to the original Jan. 14 caucus date.
[...]
Further complicating the calendar is the unsettled state of the nation's first primary in New Hampshire. Originally expected on Jan. 22, the date could be moved up into December to counter states trying to gain an early foothold on the presidential nominating process, such as Michigan, which set a Jan. 15 primary date.
Smiley: disappointed

So far, the only semi-sane response to the primary leap-frogging was when the DNC put their foot down and said they'd void the Florida delegates if they moved their primary up. Which everyone says is only going to hurt the Democrats now in a state they need to carry for the general elections. And the Florida Democratic Party is suing to have their delegates counted.

On the other hand, I can only guess that the Iowa Republicans want Clinton to be the Democratic nominee since they're thinning the chances of Edwards or Obama to catch up Smiley: laugh

Moronic. New Hampshire should just pass a law allowing embryos to vote in every primary for the next 100 years at the moment of their conception and get it over with.

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

Heh, the powers-that-be could keep moving up the primary dates until they took place the day following the Inauguration, thus making the new president a lame duck before he/she even steps foot in the Oval Office.

It reminds me of kids using a bat to determine who goes first by placing their hands one on top of the other until the kid who has the spot closest to the top grins until the loser quickly yoinks the win by gripping the very tippy-top with his fingers, shouting loudly, "Eagle claw!"

Truth be told, letting New Hampshire and Iowa have their fun during the electoral process is only right. After all, both places utterly suck to live in, so why steal what little fleeting pleasure they can find? Leave 'em alone.
