The pigs, which are about a fifth of the size of ordinary pigs, have been a hit with visitors at Pennywell Farm

I would love to see a miniature rhino.

But this reminds me of this scene from the movie Mail Order Wife.

I love Hedgehogs, they do not live long, but are celebrated pets among my family. I've had 5 , four boys (named sonic, tails, knuckles, and eggy. because it was just too tempting_ and a girl named molly.

I think that most mammals have that same affinity for babies, including those from other species. It seems to be hard wired.

I once owned an animal behavior book which showed profiles of a human infant, puppy, kitten, duckling, kid goat and a few others. They all had large, rounded foreheads, large eyes, shorter snouts, etc that their adult proportions. The obvious inference being that there is a quasi-universal "baby" look among higher animals which serves to perhaps bring out protective instincts.

Of course, for every mother cat who raises a brood of ducklings, there's a bajillion baby gazelles eaten by lions so I wouldn't read too much into it.

Frog *****' aside, the article doens't say if these pigs in the picutres are babies or not. I think they are, but they're selling the idea that they will remain cute and pet-like even as adults.

Why would someone want a pig as a pet...whatever size?
