I say the Indians are going to take it! Smiley: grin

I only say that because one of my best friends is a total Red Sox fan and after they won the World Series, he was impossible to talk to.

Baseball sucks. Playoffs are even worse. Nothing says drama like a week or two worth of boring *** games. October is caaarraaaazeee!

I would have said 4 games. But it's 10:22 on saturday right now, and it looks grim.

You may want to fix the pull to match the fact that it is a seven game series. Not that it will matter since Cleveland is gonna win anyway :)

In fashion terms, the Red Sox are the new black. They are also the new New York Yankees. Obnoxious? Check. Gargantuan payroll to buy a World Series? Check. Tons of new bandwagon riders across the country? Check.

So congrats on rooting for the Yankees North. I'll bet each of you who don't live in Boston were a Chicago Bulls fan back in the Jordan era too. Good job punching yourself in the balls. Sports polygamists, every one of you...

I've always been a sox fan. But I live in the area, so I guess you weren't directing that at me.

The ALCS is inconsequential this year, because Colorado is the closest thing to a team of destiny that I've ever seen.

Nope, don't have a problem with Bostonian Red Sox fans. I don't even mind non-resident Red Sox fans as long as this is the team they have always pulled for. But the whole "Red Sox Nation" thing smacks of that Dallas Cowboys "America's Team" back in the '70s and how many jockstrap hangers-ons there were touting *their* team's record.

We saw it during the Bulls' run and now we're seeing it with the Red Sox. It makes me puke.

Yeah, I know what you are saying. I have a few sub teams that I like for various reasons, but I can't stand the people who just fall in love with the current dynasty.

And people who cheer on the Sox just because the are the rivals of the 'evil empire Yankees' really need to check out the Sox's payroll.

Lol, the wheels have officially fallen off the Red Sox bandwagon. It's the 11th inning and Chief Wahoo is winning 13-6. I can hear the nooses being tied to shower rods all across Boston all the way from Kalifornia.

Cool beans. Get it? Beans? Beantown? Nyuk nyuk.

I crushed a kitten's skull when they brought Gagne in. Just forfeiting would have saved a lot of time.

If only I could watch some other local sports team completely dominate a high profile sport to feel better. Oh wait.

You're talking about BC's inevitable climb to number 2 in the polls this week, right? Surely, because the NBA season hasn't started yet.

Damn, fUck you New Englanders, seriously.

Come on now. It's been over TWO years since we won a world championship in a major sport. Do you have any idea how stressful that is?? It would only be right if we won three this year to compensate for the long period of suffering.

Or the Leafs winning the cup. Either of those options would be fine.

Life is getting better since Chief Wahoo whupped up on the Sox again tonight. It's too bad Boston College is doing so well, but the way this college football season is going, they'll prolly lose to BFE State in a couple of weeks.

I'll work on sending bad vibes towards the Celtics in another half month, hoping that Allen, Pierce, or Garrnet gets in a car wreck, but for the time being maybe Brady will get AIDS from nailing all those ****** and Manny will discover moth eggs in his dreads.

you speak the truth. even living in mass, i still get annoyed by the bandwagoners. the only girls that ever wore patriots shirts back in the day looked like they could actually play on the O-line. now they have those ridiculous pink hats/jerseys just to make more money on the hype of a winning team.

Agreed, nothing like watching the same 4 or 5 teams win the World Series because they can effectively buy their victory due to the lack of a salary cap.

At this rate that supposition does not apply to this year. The Tribe just beat Boston again and is leading the series 3-1. Both the Indians and the Rockies have a relatively small payroll-- particularly when compared to the Rockefellers and the Vanderbilts of MLB (su'p Yankee and Red Sox fans?).

Besides, I'd just love to hear Bob Uecker calling the World Series. "Juuuust a bit outside..." Love that guy.
