Ok, Totem made a witty one-liner joke. But that joke only works as a joke because there is such a common perception that Al Gore claimed to have invented the internet, and he's a complete moron for having done so.

I think that major media can edit, misquote and opinionise until news becomes outright propaganda. I think one of the outstanding propaganda achievements of the conservative biased media in the US recentishly is this massive, long-running opinion that Al Gore is stupid, ineffective, a joke, and a believer in lunatic fringe theories in the face of all reason.

I was just thrilled at the opportunity to put forward a counter opinion of him, even if it looked like I was simply missing the point.

Only among complete morons. Was that seriously what you thought you were doing there? Educating the readers of THIS forum about the factual accuracy of a political myth? Really?? About Al ******* GORE of all people?
