Eye level Grill? Not my fUcking eye level, short-*****

When will the world acknowledge that not all men are 5'10" and not all wimmins are 5'6" ?

As a lanky git I get all the usual crap:

  • What's the weather like up there?
  • Did you fall asleep in a glasshouse?
  • His mother said he wouldn't be long!
  • Is there snow on top?
  • Do you play basketball?

Of course, my standard witty response is "Go FUck yourself you stunted little cUnt!"

I deal with it but it does get tedious.

I'm also sympathetic to those who fall on the other side of "the norm".

Shorter guys must get equally tired of Jockey jokes and accusations of "Little Man Syndrome"

OK, people with weight problems get grief, but they do have some ability to make a difference if it bothers them, and if they choose to.

Anyone else here want to rant about the socially retarded attitudes to something you can do nothing about, or are you all "normal"?

The thing to do is to claim you have a Napoleonic complex.

Then invade northern Italy.

I'd hardly consider myself normal, but I'm certainly not freakishly tall.

So Nobby, how do you manage to shower? The reason I ask is my uncle is 6' 7" and their old house had one of the smallest shower stalls I had ever seen. It was cramped for me at 5'11" and I can only imagine that he had to get in and shower while on his knees or something. You ever run into that?

Home's fine - I had the shower mounted on a slide that is 7' tall but can lower for the kids or guests.

Hotels, on the other hand. . . Smiley: motz

As a fellow tall person, my biggest concern is not the "What the hell did your parents feed you as a kid?!" remarks, but finding clothes that actually fit. I'm 6'2", 150lbs., and I have a 32-inch waist. Do you know how ******* hard it is to find pants that are both long enough and skinny enough that they don't slide right off my *****

I take offense to the cliche: tall, dark and handsome.

Mostly because I am short, fair and rather gnomish.

And she turned out to be a crazy knife-wielding guy with a burlap sack over his head?

Yeah, I remember that one.

I prefer to call myself "Tall, dark and something or other". Not that I'm tall, but I am above the norm (6'), nor dark, just a nice shade of poo brown, but I am something or other.

Well I'm six foot, dark-haired, handsome (so says my mum), and play basketball, badly.

I'm also white and middle class, and therefor do not suffer from any of the discriminations you assorted freaks are whining about.

'Tards.

Raises the question : would you rather be really tall and able to see down blouses , or really short and able to see up skirts ?

And for the sake of the hypothetical , ***** size is a constant.

Due to my inability to keep a regular hair color and have to show my artistic side somehow, I used to get comments such as "Oh, those are your kids? I thought you were the Nanny" or a typical conversation at my house when a repair man would come to fix something:
him: HI, is your mother home?
me: I doubt it as she should be in work
him: ok, she called to ask me to fix xyz
Me: Oh how sweet! I didnt know she would offer to pay for my xyz problem
him: errr....(moments of silence is it dawns on hom) are you the Mrs of the house
Me: yes.
much stammering of apologies.
I still get that every third time someone comes to the door. Smiley: rolleyes

Since I look young too, when I first moved in to my house, my neighbors actually thought I was the troubled teenage pregnant daughter of the house. They learned quickly the truth and we've become friends but I still bring that up to their utter embarrassment once in awhile. I am such a bitch Smiley: laugh

Yes, I could change my hair to something normal. But I've always been an artistic persone, from theater to singing, to hair styling. With no outlet for me at the moment, I use my hair as it always grows back.
