Yeah, I did have a bit of a romance with drugs in my past, but now I'm clean and a Private First Class in the united states army. Who woulda thunk it?

PS.

College didn't work out so well, thus the Army thing...

Aww, well sorry about college, but how are you enjoying the army? Any plans on taking classes again at some point?

I'm currently taking english 101 online right now.

I'm very displeased with the Army. Really, I hate it. All the ridiculous crap I have to go through on a day to day basis is enough to drive one crazy. Its probably a really good option for a lot of people, but It's not the right place for me. I'm just going to do my time (4 years and 26 weeks total, still have 3 yrs 26 wks left), do my tour in Iraq and get the hell out.

I maintain that I'm too smart for the army. I have a 133 GT score/96th percentile on the ASVAB. Basically I'm qualified to do any job in the army, but I was misled into choosing perhaps the most worthless job in existence.

I am a 63 Juliet, a Quartermaster and Chemical Equipment Repairer. Sounds cool, don't it? No, not really. I fix water pumps, smoke generators, water purifiers, industrial washers/dryers, and a slew of other garbage. I probably wouldn't even mind it so much, but I don't even do my job. I've picked up a wrench maybe on 4 occasions in 6 months, and every single one of them was to work on a piece of equipment completely unrelated to my MOS (or job, in civilian speak).

Well that sucks. At least they didn't decide you were most useful for Operation: Human Shield.

Take care of you :)

It's not the eggs that were unexpected, it's the sheer volume of eggs, and they're everywhere. I find them under the deck, in the barn, under the truck. The other day I left the rear doors on the van open overnight, and there were eggs in the van. I have eggs for breakfast, egg sandwichs for lunch. I could make enough egg salad in a week to bathe in it.

Oh fUck it, there's no winning with you. I'm going to go hit a chicken with an axe. It'll be the chicken named Joph, and I'm going to make Flea watch.

Yes, I'd have thought the same. Plus, I've known some very bright veterans.

I'm going to print this out and carry it in my wallet. At odd times during the day, I'll pull it out and smile.
