Fish oils are Omega 3's, minor joint flexibility. It you have pain, glucosamine/chondroitin is not going to stop it.

And FFS, ask a physician or someone who can at least spell cartilage correctly.

I prefer cardio on the elliptical or biking.

But no matter the cardio you do, a warm up, cool down and stretching are absolute musts.

They sent over 300 people to the hospital and one guy died yesterday from running the Chicago marathon in 88 degree heat. Which doesn't even seem all that hot to me but I wasn't trying to run in it either.

So I guess my advice is not to jog a marathon with temps in the high 80's.

Go up north in January and we'll see who the babies are.

Impossible. Once they hit their first quarter-inch of snow, they'll immediately careen off into a ravine and become stranded.

This is despite them driving at 5mph because "It's so bad out there".

<-- has chains for her tires and knows how to use them. I am not afraid of snow. I may have been born in the south by the luck of the draw (or not) but this girl comes prepared.

Silly Katie. Joph is a real man. And real men don't put no stinkin chains on their Vespas.

Gratz on jogging Katie!!!

I don't know what your specific goals are, but you might find these sites helpful with your fitness journey.

The first one is the Walk on, Rock on to a New You challenge from iVillage. It's a 6 week walking program. The best part about it though is that if you sign up for the challenge, you also get a 6 week free trial to Podfitness.

Podfitness is kind of like Cardio Coach or iTrain - mp3 workouts set to music. The difference with Podfitness is that you supply your own music and they provide the audio cues. The downside to it is that you do have to give them a credit card number for the trial, but you can cancel at any time.

Another free option is the Couch to 5K program. I haven't tried these yet since I am not ready for jogging or running yet, but a lot of people love this running program.
