Ok so I hate to **** everyone off by putting this here but Brill put the last one here so I figure this is as "ok" a place as I'll get.

I can't even begin to say how disappointed I was in Chuck Lidell. It was a very frustrating fight to watch and now with rumors of him retiring I'm just all bleh over him. Props to Jardine, he deserved the win, but I still don't like him for some reason.

I loved Forrest's fight with Shogun and loved his post-fight comments about how he got depressed and ate a lot of cookies. Smiley: lol Funny how Wanderlei looked all worried during the fight that *gasp* a Pride champ might lose to some TUF guy. It was really nice to see him come out swinging and pull off such a great upset.

Diego's fight was just... weird. Friggin' clinging onto the guy's back upside down... I was finally thinking I was getting used to recognizing the jiujitsu moves and then a fight like this happens and I'm all dear god wtf am I looking at?

Anyway, I saw a preview for Rich Franklin next month and it looks exciting, but I think he'll lose again. Smiley: frown

Jardine is a typical Hilo punk.

Forrest looked like he belonged in the octagon with Shogun... despite what people were saying. It was a awesome upset, I don't think anyone dislikes Forrest.

I'm with you Pikko, I just don't like Jardine... but I've got to give him props for figuring out how to thaw the Iceman (sorry, had to do it). His kicks were making me wince in pain, I can't imagine how Chuck was able to walk the next day.

Diego needs to take a break and figure out how to fight again... I've never been a big fan of his, but his last two fight haven't been very impressive. Finch is a good fighter, and my friends and I knew going in that it wasn't going to be a walk in the park for either fighters, but we were expecting something more then we got.

don't doubt Franklin... hopefully he comes into this fight looking better then last time when it looked like he waited until the last minute to drop weight and get in shape.

I like Forrest, so I'm thrilled he won. The guy just seems to get very little respect in UFC. He throws down with just about anybody who wants to get in there with him. Deigo was just sad. So was Liddell. But I've never been a huge fan of Liddell.

Forrest vs Stephen in the finale of TUF was just an amazing, amazing fight so I don't get why he doesn't get much respect. I guess that comes from being on reality tv. Hopefully that's done with for him now.

I'd heard Diego had a staff infection sore the size of a fist during his fight with Koschek. After looking at some pics of a staff infection this morning, ugh. I'm surprised he can still fight at all. I'm still shuddering. Smiley: oyvey

I watched UFC 76 and came away suprised by all the upsets. Liddell being the biggest shock of course, followed closely by Griffin's astounding performance against Shogun. Diego losing to Fitch did not suprise me too much, because once a guy gets on a roll, it is real hard to stop. Fitch has won a ton of fights in a row and looks to be getting in line after Hughes/Serra and then GSP vs. Hughes/Serra winner.

Overall I still think Diego has a lot to learn about carrying himself with class. I liked at the end of the fight him giving respect to Fitch, but the part at the beginning where he runs in and started screaming at Fitch was representive of how he has carried himself from the reality t.v. show through the whole Koscheck debacle (yes that fight was terrible).

I really believe that Chuck should step away from MMA for now much like Couture did and do some introspection. Taking a break would allow him to get his mojo back instead of trying to be the "hollywood/rockstar" figure that the UFC wants him to be for all their posters.

Get back to being a fighter Chuck - lose the whole bigger than the sport hype that you have fallen into.

I went through the pay outs for each of those fights and was laughing pretty hard. If you aren't a known name, you get squat/jack/nada. While Jardine got ripped pay wise pretty good, Griffin did not make out well either. Shogun got 150k for being embarrassed while Griffin got 44k (including winning payout). For being someone who they tout as "redefining MMA for the modern era" due to his fight with Bonnar, Griffin should of at least had equal $ to Shogun who had never fought in the UFC.

All in all, Dana White needs to work on his pay scale for these guys. If I was Jardine I would be royally pissed because it was the main event of the card. Even if you are a "nobody", he should still have got some good $ for being in the main event.

By the by - Sanchez is talking of dropping weight to lightweight now. Funny how we did not hear that kind of talk from him when he was winning all those handpicked fights. Way to backdoor out of the division with 2 straight losses and no respect. Guess Koschek was right about you after all - just a punk. I hope Penn gets the title and then beats you. When that happens, what division will you drop to then? Bodog..IFL? :P

And Chuck - you have made a living off of fighting wrestlers without very good striking skills... better work on your stand up game vs. premier strikers or you are going to end your career with loss after loss. Think everyone else in MMA and the UFC in particular did not watch that fight and see you exposed? Fix it or watch your career go bye bye.
