I can't justify an Xbox360 let alone waiting for an FPS like shortbus kids in line at the merry-go-round.

Yep.

Jsut curious to see if anyone was willing to admit they would be out at midnight to pick it up. Walmart even went as far as to say that they would have dedicated checkout lines to nothing but H3 purchases.

Say what you want about the game or the influx of tween players, it is still going to destroy sales numbers.

Hubby only does the midnight releases for consoles and FFXI expansions.

Won't be getting Halo 3 just yet. Haven't said farewell to Halo 2 enough yet.

I still don't have the console to play it. I decided some time ago I would have to upgrade my TV setup first, and I haven't broke down and done that either. I'm being a responsible fellow and paying off my debts and whatnot.

I imagine it'll come out for the PC relatively soon, but I'll have to get Bioshock before I bother with H3.

I won't be getting it. My brother is begging me to so I can play with him, but I picked up skate the other day, and am still having too much fun busting sh;t I could never dream about in real life.

I can't bring myself to buy a console when that $500 could go towards a better graphics card for my computer.

I have an ingenious solution for that little problem. I bought both.

Good friend of mine has it pre-ordered, and he's picking it up tomorrow. Unfortunately, I'm just starting the first round of midterms and papers, so I probably won't get to see it for another 2 weeks.

I do.

EDIT: Or, rather, I will, when it gets here. I'm upgrading. New mobo, CPU, additional video card and 500 gb on raid 0+1. I'm psyched.

Yes, I went out a little after midnight and bought it. Not a big deal, since I usually am up the graveyard shift, anyway.

After six grueling hours, my husband and brother beat it. OK, maybe not -THAT- grueling, we did stop and eat some pizza and ice cream in the middle of it.

Two of my old room-mates were managers of game stores back in the day. They both had to set up various release parties. I remember them ******** endlessly about it, and what a pain in the **** all the customers were leading up to the release of a big game or new console. Needless to say, neither of them miss that job anymore.

Played it last week for a while.

A few dumbass UK shops (bless 'em) put the stock on sale as soon as they received it instead of waiting for the "release date".

It's pretty neat, but to be honest, Halo never did it for me.

I bought the Legendary Edition and I know the store very well so I walked in at midnight and grabbed mine and walked out took me maybe the most 45 seconds.

I got the legendary edition as well. I stood in line for 2+ hours (at midnight) and went home and played 8 straight hours of it. It is the single greatest game in my library besides WoW of course. It is everything I could possibly want in an FPS shooter and more.

It is ****** in a box. The funny thing here is that my Fiance and I met through xbox live while playing Halo 2 and now we are playing Halo 3 as a couple. It doesn't get any better than that.

Oh yeah, ended up waiting in line at midnight.
It was the greatest boost to my ego ever.

There were 3 enormous people in front of me, all 35+ who clearly consumed 1000+ calories worth of ice cream and cookies and chatted about old school games. The guy was wearing a sweater vest. Yes, a sweater vest.

I stood infront of Cheech, Chong, and Doofus, who for a good 45 mintues made such comments as:
"Dude, they should definitely make like Master Chief Bong Hits"
"Ha! I bet you could turn the helmet into a sweet *** bong"
"You should take a **** and let it run down the window of this store" (A true quote)
"<farting noises>"
"My old lady's kids are cool, I let them call me Chris or stepdad if they want".

Three people behind them were a 10yr old kid and his parents. I was kinda disappointed that the 3 retards kept cussing, but then I realized that this game was clearly marked M and yet his parents were buying it for him. It was only more hilarious as the father kept pointing out different welds on the side of the building and pointing how how they should have done it to be in code.

This was followed by every teenager peeling out of the parking lot in their 97 Nissan Sentra and the crowd simultaneously yelling "Ur gay" "****!". They seemed to be quite satisfied with their originality.

I'd say I was lame, but I was like a God among mortals.

The reason is because retail is extremely competitive and all the pressure they are feeling is not from the customers, but from their district leaders calling them every 15 minutes to find out if they are prepared or not.

The GameStop near me had 600 people in line. Even the local news came out to promote it as well. They even played the old Halo game soundtrack music over a sound system. Twas' cool.
