Sarah just informed me that Robert Jordan is dead!

WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!

Christmas has come early!! "What do you want this year, Smash? Hookers?"

"No."

"Gold?"

"Hmm, no."

"World peace?"

"Nah."

"Some fat overrated plagiarizing scumbag talentless hack civil war buff who wished the South won masquerading as a writer to die?"

"Golly, really? Can you make that happen?"

"You bet!"

I'm so overjoyed. I haven't been this happy since the birth of my first child.

The only time I've ever even heard of Jordan is on the internet, primarily here. I think it's because the people I know in real life don't read ****** books. How many books are in this seris? A dozen? There is no story that should take that long to tell. There's just no way I'm reading the same story for twelve books. Personally, I haven't read any fantasy, other than Tolkien, since I was in elementary school. Yes, that means I haven't and don't plan on reading Harry Potter, either.

Whenever I hear the name "Robert Jordan", I think of Hemingway's hero in "For Whom the Bell Tolls", I don't think of this guy.

It's more about training up my baby-daddys to a certain standard. I want to be able to have all the joys of parenting while still keeping every other weekend for whoring around without worrying about the kids.

if it is the same writer who wrote the hugly popular wheel of time series, some of you finger painting art critics in here should move on to atleast water colors before you start bashing the masters.

he was batteling cancer for the last 6 years, a battle he knew he would loose and was just buying time. he made enough money to live comfortably for the rest of his life, but committed to finnishing the wheel of time series anyway probably in no small part because of the fans, and partly im sure to leave behind a legacy.

he is one of the most sucessfull writers of our time. its a shame. a shame also he didnt finnish the work.

may he rest in peace.

Take care, guys. And remember -- no cancer.

Perhaps you should do a little research before you post. He died from heart problems. Smiley: rolleyes

Well, I could pretend I care about how he died but really I'm more appalled that people regard this person as a "masterful" writer.
