I voted "other". I'd be collecting life insurance.

One of the old Sergeants I used to work with told me that if you are a resident of Louisiana you can have your wife committed to an asylum and all assets and child custody automatically transferrs to the husband with very little legal hassle.

I never checked on it to see if he was pulling my leg or not.

If I could do it over I would have been far better off going with "other".

I figured at the time I be lucky if he pays me child support. 10 years, later I have some hope that the state will finally start to collect from his VA disability checks. He's went and got a college degree, pay for by the VA, but told his girls he isn't going to look for a job, since he owes me a for several years worth of child support. Since I written off ever seeing any money from him/her, anything the state does collect and sends me will be gravy.

I never understood not paying anything to help support your kids. I can see problems if the mom is a vindictive ***** who is simply trying to squeeze every last penny out of you in hopes she can sit on her *** in relative comfort. Other than that I can't see not contributing at least something to the cause. Even if you're working part time pumping gas and can't get any other work and you can only give $20 a week or some such... at least that's something.

I guess it's easy for me to say though, I have a good job and no kids so I'm basically talking out of my ***. Not a new thing, certainly.

I'm with Sami. If my wife and I get divorced one of us will be collecting life insurance. The only question is who files the papers first.

I like to think that hubby and mine's marriage is strong enough to withstand any kind of onslaught. And so far we've perservered, even when both of us have thought of throwing in the towel.

Michael Jordan's divorce is going to be the new number 1 once it's finalized.

Ouch.
