I read this book "What's Really Wrong with America" (great book btw) and the author had a funny story about a debate he had with Jesse Jackson.
Jackson was going on and on about how the whites are holding black people back and how they're held down and not allowed to accomplish things.
The author thought it was hilarious that a millionaire in a 2000$ suit who arrived in a private jet, and who's son is a CONGRESSMAN, had the audacity to say that black people are held down.
I agree 100%. The only thing holding black people back is black people. To most black people, being smart in school or trying to get out of the hood are things to be mocked. It's much cooler to them to be the class clown, or the one with the best sneakers rather than be the smartest or most successful in some other profession besides music or sports.
John Stossel did a great report on this. He talked to a bunch of black people in a welfare line and asked them a few questions like if they felt they were held down by soceity because of the color of their skin. Most of them said yes.
Then he spoke to some Jamacians (sp) and asked them the same question. They said hell no. They said they were offerred every opportunity to succeed in this country and that with hard work, they could do anything. These particular people had been in the country for 5 years, came here with nothing...had black skin, yet owned their own clothing store.
Black people need to get off their asses and find someone else to blame but themselves. Even the poorest black kid from Harlem can attend college if he puts enough hard work into it. Colleges LOVE accepting poor black kids if they have even halfway decent grades. So black people, get off your @#%^ing soapbox and go get a @#%^ing job.
Or actually, maybe these black women need to keep their legs closed for once in their lives. Maybe if you finished high school or college before having kids, they'd be better off. A STAGGERING amount of black families are single-parent compared to white households. Maybe THAT'S what's holding you back...not the white man. Maybe if you didn't bang some loser who's gonna take off on you, you wouldn't have to go on welfare.
