...they would look like this.

Does anyone know what the story is behind that barn? It's a pretty unique looking bit of architecture although I kind of doubt it started that way.

It doesn't exactly look like a barn. Maybe a drying shed for tobacco or some such.

And no, no idea how it found itself suspended in midair.

It looks like that picture was generated on a computer.

It could be. I saw it (being asked about) on a different forum and thought that it (a) was neat and (b) might be known to someone here. But it could definately be a 'Shop job.

Judging from this, I'm going to guess that it's Photoshopped. I had assumed (from the other angle) that the long beams were providing support against an eroded base but apparently they're not connected, leaving the entire structure dependent upon the tiny, way off balance base.

There ya go. I skimmed the thread under the photo since 96% of it was in non-English.

Well, that post did say the she (he) used a photoshop, not neccesarily the software programmed called Photoshop.

Still, I think it's been altered in the most digital sense.

It really doesn't look like PS from first glance on both angles. It looks quite a bit like a Grain Barn. Like a Semi driving underneath the dumps (the triangles) and filling up, then driving off.

It could be built. It would be pricey - especially to get the frame not to slump away from the support. It would likely not be useful.

It's still a really cool image, even if it is photoshopped. It's very well judged.

Someone dug up this version which seems a lot more plausible. I could see it being intended to load trucks via hoppers on the bottom.

This image may or may not be accurate.
