When's the last time you heard a new song that you put it on autorepeat on your iPOD or kept hitting 'repeat last track' on your car CD?

Last 2 days I'm playing the new Foo Fighters single "The Pretender" again and again.

Any other recent tunes I need to hear?

Last one was "Making Love in Momma's Room" by They Might Be Giants. Oddly enough, it was the last time we had a thread like this.

Oh, and Dave Guetta's(sp?) "Love is gone".

I'm liking John Doe's "A Year in the Wilderness" material.

Linkies slackers!

I have beer to drink, and making me type google searches is tantamount to making me put down my glass!

Have you no pity?

Oddly enough, it was a Foo Fighters song: Times Like These

I like the 7/4, and the lyrics don't suck, either.

It was listening to the Radio 1 Lounge, a Nelly Furtado cover of Crazy.

I don't usually like either of them, but I was stoned on my balcony, it was sunny, and it was perfect.

Nothing, absolutely nothing.

Arctic Monkeys was poppy enough but didn't last a week, I downloaded Easy Star All Stars covers of Radiohead and Darkside of the Moon but its old hash. I downloaded R. Kelly Live: The Light it Up Tour which is perhaps the most hilarious live album ever released but other than the comic effect the music itself isn't all that great.

I like Knopfler's "Punish the Monkey" lately too, but I tend to like his stuff.

I usually put a song on repeat while I grind chicken. It helps me get in a good groove for the thirty minutes of mindless hacking and grinding I do daily.

This week I've done this song, this song, and this song.

I realize I don't have the most exciting or obscure tastes in music.

Nice linkage.

On a side-note, Im sick of meeting wimminz I've drooled over on TV or movies, only to find that in real life they are munters (bad skin, squinty eyes, saggy ***** etc). When I saw Nelly Furtado back in July, I realised I was seeing one of the most beautiful women I've ever seen. She looks and sounds divine, and has a voice that goes straight down the front of one's trousies.

That radio show always has different people covering famous songs. You get some pretty cool stuff, like that Furtado song, and some pretty random stuff, like the Arctic Monkeys doing Love Machine from Girls Aloud Smiley: thumbsup

Jo Whiley annoys the tits off me, but the cover versions in the live lounge are often astonishing.

Lee Ryan was the half-whit pretty-boy of a boy-band called 'blue'. Hated him, until I heard him do a soulful rendition of Foo-fighters (I'm a recent convert) "The Best of You". Hairs on ther back of the neck.

Edit - Found a link

Quite possibly the worst band ever to exist. That is taking into account Wham, Ratt, and Hanson.

They opened for a metal act perhaps 5 years ago that I went to see and the guitarist was having orgasms playing his guitar. Pretty big theatrics considering the guitar work was pretty simple. Around the time he was swinging the guitar around his neck it became unplugged entirely from the set up and it became perfectly clear that he was pulling an Ashley Simpsons. I think he 'played' the next 2-3 minutes before he had the decency to plug back in and at least try for the illusion that he was capable of playing his own song.

Out of the 100+ rock shows I have seen since I was 14 it was the most embarrassing show bar none. That is including the Foo Fighters which was actually pretty awesome despite the mediocre music and sub par crowd, the drummer fell off his stool and Grohl heckled him for the entire show and when Grohl went to make fun of the Mentos song he asked for a pack of mentos so he could burn it in effigy he ended up getting close to hundred packs thrown at him and he took one square between the eyes which was fun times.

It's possible. I've never heard any of their other material. But I do dig that tune.

I spent most of last year listening to St. Elsewhere far too much on my Zen player. Before that, it was Vivaldi's Four Seasons and Sasha's Airdrawndagger.
