I knew he was a methodist, I am just sick of all the damn mormon favortism around these parts.

Start stabbing them. You have the problems, the 'Roo has the solutions.

And if I had a decent camera I would post a pic of the headline here on our local paper today.

Larry Craig, "I AM NOT GAY.

Did it read "I just like to blow strangers once in a while, you know like Jesus did" in 4 point font too? Because then I'd care at all what happens in @#%^ing Idaho.

Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

To be fair, there's no evidence that he actually tried to marry someone of the same sex though...

To be accurate, there is evidence he did try to initiate sexual activity with a member of the same gender.

Try to stay on topic.

I guess, if one actually believes that tapping the right foot in a bathroom stall means "do me". Maybe his foot fell asleep. Smiley: frown

And since there was no toilet paper, he wiped his **** with his hand, and then wiped his hand under the stall divider several times.

Happens to me all the time Smiley: frown.

Well, I'm no expert in the goings on of mens' bathroom stalls. I defer to your expertise, RP.

I can tell you that the womens' bathroom is far less exciting.

I dunno, girls going to the bathroom together, giggling, to "powder their noses" sounds like the start of a pretty cool party to me...

I actually asked a gay friend about this yesterday, since I know nothing about cruising behavior among gay and closeted men.

Right there in the coffee shop he demonstrated that you don't just tap your foot, you stick it under the divider and play footsie with the other person. It would be very clear that you're initiating contact or (as I suggested) having a convulsion.

Of course if you've already gotten to that point it means you've made eye contact and indicated that you're interested. It's pretty much the deeply closeted "straight" men who have to go through the charades.

Listening the the AM radio the other morning, one of the hosts was talking about how frustrated he was with the Republican's harping on "family values". He identifies as a conservative and wants to vote for a party which represents sound fiscal policy, strong on defense and against big government*. However, elected officials in that party get crucified by their own people on the basis of things that, to him, really don't matter at all in a national sense. It's not even a "Evil Liberals" issue; Democrats have been pretty quiet on this because they know the Republicans will hang their own and there's no reason to get involved and give the Republicans a common enemy.

* I know it's up for debate how well Republicans stand for this or Democrats don't. I'm just restating the base of his arguement.

What I have read according to the agent: the agent who arrested him was part of an ongoing operation to catch this kind of activity, in this particular bathroom. The senator placed his briefcase in such a way as to block the view under the stall door - and this was a "signal" among those who do this kind of activity. Further, the senator tapped his foot, to which the agent responded in kind and then the senator reached his hand under the wall separating their stalls to the extent that the agent could see the ring on his finger. And that was enough for the arrest. The agency, if not this agent, had an ongoing operation and seemed to have made similar arrests for similar actions, repeatedly.

Of course it could all have been an accident.

Reminds me of a story with me and this punk rock girl on the subway in London in the early 1990's which I don't have time to tell.

The officer also said that the incident started with Craig looking into the officer's stall through the slit between door and partition.

Heheh.

Anyway, what is with anonymous gay sex encounters occurring in public pissers? Is it just a crime of opportunity? Or is there something erotic about the location? Not saying that gay sex is a crime, but when it happens in public, well, yeah.

No, I'm up in Edmonton.

And yes, I did know that 'All hell for a basement' refers to Medicine Hat before making it my sig.

Right, an accident that a US Senator plead guilty to.

Seems likely.

#51gbaji, Posted: Aug 30 2007 at 5:01 PM, Rating: Sub-Default, (Expand Post) Yeah. It's just a really bad argument IMO. Conservatives hold themselves to a higher standard of ethics. Liberals take advantage of this by actively looking for Republican elected officials that don't match up (or can be made to appear to not match up). But if we were to line up all the activities performed by politicians that Conservatives disagree with from both parties, I don't think it's a stretch to say that Dems would massively outnumber the Republicans on this.
