HD-DVD is the much better technology, so Blu-Ray will win in the marketplace almost without question. America is by far the largest consumer of this sort of product, and it's full of morons, so it's near certain the ******** more expensive technology will win.

To make a long story short, I don't take any responsibility for anything I post here. It's not news, it's not truth, it's not serious. It's parody. It's satire. It's bitter. It's angsty. Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

I'll repeat the same argument I made last time.

HD-DVD. For one reason. The customer knows exactly what they're getting. Everyone knows what a DVD is. They know that "HD" stands for "high definition". So if they buy an "HD-TV", what sort of DVD player will they get with it? Yup. An "HD-DVD".

Pretty obvious really. Maybe Bluray means HD. Maybe it's something that just runs games. Who knows? At least, that's how the average confused consumer walking into a store to buy a product will think.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but this was my first thought as well.

I believed this till I recived a call from a little old wondering why her BRAND NEW HDTV couldn't play her new HD-DVD :(. She wasn't happy when I informed her she needed a HD-DVD Player and that her current regualar DVD Player wouldn't play HD movies.

Bit like the Betamax vs VHS question years ago. I always had better video and sound from my Beta tapes.

You youngins can google Betamax.

Yup. Note the key bit. You told her she needed a "High Definition DVD player", right (or did you actually say "HD-DVD")?

Now. She goes to the store. What's she going to buy? Yup. That thing that says "HD-DVD player"... Cause that's what you told her she'll need in order to play her HD-DVD on her "HD-TV". ;)

I voted HD-DvD. Like gbaji said, easier to understand.

nLod, as for your comment about the old lady, I don't think that really counts. Nothing against the elderly, but they usually don't understand current technology much because by the time the very first computer came out they were already in their 40s or 50s, for the most part, and things just advanced at an absurd pace from there.

I make a point of this old lady. But have had people in the early 20's call for stupider problems. Sure the elderly don't grasp it. But the youngins think they do and spout of about it.

Also. Blueray sales a bloated by the fact that the only reason people buy them are because there are 0 good games for ps3.
