I just stopped in my house from the bar across the street to rip a few bingers....
I'll be going back over ofter this post...
SO
I've always really seen bars as the kinda place I really woldnt hang out in.. like . a place where "old people" go... so now I'm old..
my rational usually is.. that it's right accross the streeet... so I can just stagger home.....
but socially it's not too bad cause it's people I know that are theere, and my gF wanted to go..

In the past though... I always seen bars as like.. the bottom of the barrel in social situations... Don;t get me wrong.. i mean.. I am usually a fúcking hermit..
but walking in my house I was ran into someone and refered to myself as just another redneck about going to that bar and it got me thinking whether or not that was sort of an off-hand remark or if other people see it as such.

anyway.. dancing is still fun no matter where you are, and especcislaly when it's with a hottie.

later beeiItches

Bars are only as depressing as you make them, no matter the bar.

Unless you're talking about VFW, then yeah, it's usually pretty sad.

I tend to prefer bars to clubs. I go to the bar across the street from work every night to unwind with a nice rum and coke, and I've never found it depressing.

I've always preferred bars to clubs, especially with older people. Better atmosphere, quieter, more laid-back.

And, wtf does "rip a few bingers" mean? Knowing you, it probably means you're toking up, but it also sounds like you've got some really horrid gas that you would not wish to unleash inside the bar for fear of killing the patrons and possibly causing an explosion.

Some bars are depressing no matter what. Aside from the VFW bars even.

I always thought that ***** bars should be depressing. Poor girls becoming sex objects and having to bear it all, it's dehumanizing.

There is just something about degradation and tits that makes me unable to be blue though.

Go to the bar to hook up and you are fucking pathetic.

Go to the bar with friends and have fun and you are ace.

It's not the bar, the scariest dive bar can be fun and ussualy is, it's the people you have fun with.

Bars are scary and have big claws.

I've always enjoyed bars & pubs. I just can't afford to drink in them more than a couple times a week.

That's probably why ***** bars are the only bars I go to anymore.

I never liked bars or clubs. I prefer quiet social settings where people aren't intentionally cognitively incapacitating themselves.

Yeah, I'm a boring son of a *****.

being out at a bar getting drunk around other people is a lot less depressing than being at home getting drunk by your self.

Flea and I attended Pre-Cana this weekend and I was surprised how many couples said they had met in a bar. Probably near to 50%. Of course, I don't know how many of those were 'friend of a friend' things in bars or what their motivations were for going to the bar in the first place. I just didn't know that bars were still the place to meet members of the other gender.

If you want to introduce a couple of friends, a bar is a pretty relaxed atmosphere for that.

The last thing I need is my friends procreating.

Also, I managed to get bored during Pre-Cana and sketch a pretty rad picture of sasquatch fighting a dinosaur.

Maybe you could animate it and sell it to Jack Links for a new TV ad.

Damn now I'm craving jerky.

I totally with that guy... with the name... like Noobkiller or something...

Anyway, he's right, it's not the bar, it's the people.

And the reason why you go.

And well, sometimes it's the bar too.

But mostly, it's the people, as whats-his-name rightly pointed out.

As one who has 'hooked up' in bars on more than one occasion, I see nothing strange about finding hawtness in a bar. Going to a bar to look for it is, indeed, pretty sad, but no more sad than dating agencies.

I suppose the distinction is that I've never been to a bar with the intention of finding the next future-ex Mrs Nobby.

(Personally, I find Bail-Hostels and Interwebs Forums more productive hunting grounds)

Considering my luck with women recently, bars are seriously depressing.

Honestly, depends on the bar. There's one by work I go to often with co-workers, and it's pretty fun. Doesn't help that the waitress is hawt. The bad thing for me, is that in portland, bars are smoking, so you come home smelling like an ashtray. That's bad.

I find if I go to the bar with expectation I'm going to have a few, enjoy my friends and play some pool, bars are fun. If I have the expectation I'm going to talk to some cute girls, bars are bad.

Of course, I'm smooth like gravel, so that sort of goes with the territory.
