I am a victim of marketing. I see it, I want it. They are just so f'ucking sexy. I know for the same price I could pick up a dell with 4gb of ram and a 768mb vid card, doesn't matter. I need someone to hold my bank card and cc info to stop me from splurging!

My mom got one of the really nice 17" ones for free through the college she teaches at.

It blows. Since we've got it it's had a tendency to completely freeze when modifying account information, it overheats whenever I throw something particularly rough at it, and it likes to randomly disconnect from or be unable to detect various wireless routers.

And if you're one of those people who like to think that you'll be able to have both Windows and Mac OS X on the same computer and get the best of both worlds... it's a lot easier than it sounds.

I know, right? Carrie from Sex and the City was a mac fan, plus a whole episode was devoted to when her Powerbook broke down. Not to spoil the ending for you, but she ended up getting a new one from her cute boyfriend Aidan because hers was unsalvageable. So sad. Still, it was orange and white, like a dreamsicle!

There, ya ***. Sheesh.

I'm sure the nerdy but hot girl at karaoke would so go down on me if she saw that I had an Imac!

Truthfully though my comp is coming up on 3 years old. I've been eyeing a new computer for over a year (made posts about it in the past) and having been stashing some money off to the side for it. I also have a family member direly in need of a computer so I could pawn my off to them and earn some karma. I've been eyeing Dell cause I am not wanting to goto the trouble of putting something together myself. I have heard enough mixed reviews of Vista that I am a little bit wary and all Dell rigs come with it except their XPS systems which is a little more than I am looking to spend.

Plus those new Imacs come out on the 28th and its just so sexy. Like I said I can't help but consume!

Buying a computer because the case is pretty is a bad call.

Check out some sites like ibuypower.com

Not sure what the iMacs come with, but I find it hard to believe that you'll get a better gaming computer from Mac for less money than Dell.

Nice site, will have to check it out. Especially with the exchange rate the way it is.

Now to get kao to explain why/whynot for quad vs duo core and multiple video cards etc!

Don't worry Bodhi, I want one also, just because they look so cute. I want to stick Hello Kitty stickers all over it.

if you are looking for a gaming computer, this quote is 100% the truth. you will NOT get the same level of computer with an iMAC as you can form Dell, or HP, or any other maker of PCs for GAMING. the iMAC is not a gaming rig.

it is one sweet workstation and does play WoW very well and just looks great due to the HD monitor. this of the iMAC as a very big laptop, but with less power comsumption and lower heat output.

i own 2 of them. a 20in G5 with only 1G ram and a cr4ptastic ATI6200 128M vid card that can play WoW, but only if i dumb down the graphics to about 50% of their max settings. it does everything else just great and has never crashed.

the 2nd is the new Intel 24in with 2G ram and the upgraded 5700 nvidia 256M vid card. it plays wow on max settings and i never get below 25FPS even in a raid or a major city near the AH.

the newer 24in iMACs with the extreeme CPU are even more powerful then the one i have. i do not use it for gaming. i use it for business. i do not have to worry about the wife accedentily installing some stupid file from an e-mail or clicking on the wrong link on a web page as there are no viruses or malware to worry about (well basicically none to worry about. no malware yet, and the viruses are so far and few between that they only affect the user account and no the root of the system) so it is less headache for me to manage the systems.

they run Quickbooks Pro just fine, if you want to use MS Office, there is a MAC vs that works well enough, but i prefer just to use OpenOffice for a lot of other reason, but yes i do own MS Office for the MAC due to QuickBooks ONLY exporting to Excel, what a PITA that is.

the iMACs are NOT cheap and should not be purchaced as a game platform. the Apple laptops and desktops on the other hand can out perform and cost less then equivilent hardware from Dell, HP, Gateway, etc... more so their laptops then desktops, but even then it is close.

top it off with http://www.parallels.com/en/landingpage/dskd13/?gclid=CJTHt_b9ho4CFQwsOAodjF3SDw]Paralles for MAC and you have a winner.
