Yeah, when I came from Boston I had that same exact feeling. That and the "the weekend wasn't long enough" feeling.

Here's hoping for next year. Smiley: cry

my take:
I forgot to pick our seats for our flight and found out Sick and I were not sitting together unless we spent $80 for business class. At first I said no way in hell, but after the nod from Sick, I decided fuck it, and went ahead. Besides, we got free alcohyol. I had 2 glasses of red on the plane and was feeling great.
Sick and I arrived at the hotel after everyone else had, wanting to make a grand entrance. Actually, it was because our plane arrived a lot later. We popped into our hotel room, freshened up and went to meet everyone for dinner. There was much hugging and helloes passed on. I sat down and Joph passed me this weird silver box and said to talk into it. I hesitantly did and was happily surprised to hear Eric Claptons voice on the other end. He promised to sing to me at the next allafest. We then ordered dinner, more wine, and ate while everyone who hadnt met before started to get to know everyone else. Those of us who had met in Boston got to it like old pros. After dinner we ended up in Smexas suite, while DF and Angsty ran out to get us booze. They were very kind. We sat around for a few hours drinking and getting louder by the minute. Fortunately the hotel staff was able to forsee the future and put Smexas room at the very end of the hallway. I had a total of 7 glasses of wine and only felt tipsy. Finally, when everyone else was coming back with their pjs on, and mine were definitely NWS, Sick and I decided to head back to our own room and try to passout.

Sat morning, I woke up at 6, 6:30, 7 and finally got out of bed at 7:30. Sick and I had breakfast and awful coffee. I was bummed. The plan was to meet at 11 in the lobby for those who wanted to go to the art institute while the rest went to the air show. DF and Demea had hangovers and did not join us. Flea and Joph took us to some free trolleys, and I know why they are free now. They take forever to get there and play bad music. Although they did play Danger Zone and all of us chuckled as we thought of Neph grinding.

At the art institute, Joph felt up Tare with Flea looking on. We mocked him about it. I got to see suits of armor and poleaxes. I now have a big admiration for pole axes. Especially if they have pointy things or giant blades at the end. I want one. Oddly enough, I was too engrossed in bouncing like a school girl that I forgot to take any pictures of them.

We saw some art and some Picasso. We also found a very pornographic portrait of a 7 yr old girl sitting very disturbingly and a giant cat on the floor. The picture was called girl with cat. We decided that even for us and our tasteless views, it was too much.

We got back together with everyone for dinner at a Peruvian restraunts. I noticed that Flea likes to say that stuff is filled with yum. I thought that was cute. We had Pisco Sours, some Peruvian bridal shower drink that will kick your ***! I had two. After we headed back to the hotel where we were going to get ready for a club but instead we all kind of passed out for a bit. Once we woke up we decided to go to the bar downstairs and drink there, knowing we wouldnt have to pay an exhorbatant fee for a cab, and could stumble up into our rooms at will. At one point, Smash, Nexa, Dan, and I went outside and I was playing around with my camera. I got "The Legendary Photo", which no one but us will ever see as it has been banned by those it was taken of. However, we who were there, laughed our asses off and continue to chuckle when thinking of it. It will forever be in our twisted minds. Sucks to be you, if you didnt get the chance to see "The Legendary Photo."Sick and I decided to head back a touch earlier than the others, where Kas promptly texted that I was a weenie. Bastid!

Woke up on Sunday and headed over to Smexas for breakfast. Flea and Nexa were kind enough to make us all breakfast. I was not coherant yet with no coffee to have been even a little help except by staying out of their way. I drank coffee. We gathered around the tv and watched a Jeopardy marathon trying to feel smart.

Some people had to leave then for the airports so we went down to the lobby and said our goodbyes. The rest of us, me, Sick, Joph, Flea, Demea, and Kastigir, hopped in a cab and sped off to the Fields Museum, where I could giggle at dinosaurs. I got to see Sue and here's a cool pic of her head. I also saw a representation of Joph and Gbaji arguing.

We decided as a whole to go to the Darwin exhibit to feel more intellectual. There was no photography allowed whatsoever, but at one point, Kas pleaded to get a picture of some boobies we saw. I broke the law on his behalf and got one for him. I also saw this amazing armadillo that I think should be used as a mount in some MMO.

I also found some very cool pics in another exhibit that would make wonderful avatars for people. We thought of Kao when we saw this and we all laughed and will need to photo shop the T out of this one.

Afterwards, Demea took his leave, we went back to the hotel, Flea and Joph left too. Kas, Sick and I were all ready to head out for dinner after a respite. Unfortunately I came down with a killer headache. I felt bad, but I bailed on Kas. Advil was just not cutting it.

This morning, Kas, Sick and I met up one last time for coffee and breakfast. We missed the others already. WHiel we were all ready to go home, it was bittersweet saying our goodbyes. I had a hell of a good time with you all, and I can not wait for Vegas.

I've got a sh*tload more pics, but they have to be approved before I can post them. I'll put them on the official pic thread once approval has been granted.

I forgot to add about the police guy. While waiting for our taxi at the fields museum, this police guy gets out of his car and starts yelling at the cars parked near the taxi area. He just starts shouting "Hey you! Move it! I'm a policeman, you hafta listen to me and do what I say!" I <3 that guy

We're still bumping his ego though, and Bob knows that doesn't need to get any larger.

This must be what it feels like to be part of something larger than myself.

Or, this feeling is that of being on the outside of an inside joke.

Either way, I just want to belong.
