Oh and

Wonder how long after Bush leaves office it will take them to realize that his wildly gross deficit spending too hold off economic woes have actually led to a larger economic fall in the future?

All Bush has to do is hold it off until Jan 2009 and it's someone else's problem.

And, if a Republican wins the 2008 election, there's still no reason why we couldn't claim that a major economic crash in 2010 was all Bill Clinton's fault.

Basically what the wait for General Petraeus report is all about. Killing time so he can pass the buck to the next guy while blaming all the problems of his presidency on the last guy.

Real straight shooter your president is.

Whatever happened to the good ol' days where you yankees would just shoot a president you didn't like?

I must say, I expected more from the big bad American voter.

It would be nice if we could write it off as 'every president sucks', it is a true statement afterall. However the George Herbert Walker Bush variety of suck is on a whole different level to any president in the history of your country. It is so blatant and ingrained at every level of the entirety of his 7 year presidency that it has the suck has truly become more than just the sum of its parts. Hell you could ignore the purple hippopotamus in the room and exclude the war in Iraq/Afghanistan from the conversation and he would still be a front runner for 'most dismally inept president ever'.

I am going to have to say that is only a part of the problem.

The credit crunch due to the subprime mortgage problem here in the States, has finally spread to Canada. Coventree Inc, an issuer of asset backed commerical paper (debt purchasing) needed emergency funding this morning.

Also, because the global equity market's are crashing, people are pulling their money out of foreign investments and putting their money back into the "safe haven" currency; the USD.

But still behind Buchanan. And probably Harding as well.

Well, maybe behind Harding. At least Harding's cronies only robbed the government blind and didn't lead us into a war.

What about Grant? Grant was pretty bad. Although, again, no wars were committed during his Presidency, except range wars, and some indigenous peoples-type wars, but they didn't wear uniforms.

Kind of too bad for ol' Ulysses, in a way, since war was the one thing he was pretty good at.

Yeah, Grant is a pretty good example of presidental ineptness.

I could perhaps think of worse presidents in total than those named, but not so much presidents who sucked in their sheer inability to handle the office.

I know I was, for all four years of it, along with the 8 years being VP. I also believe his predecessor had more to do with the war in Afghanistan, then GHW Bush did.
