Something is happening in Maine!

I know, I couldn't believe it either...

Quote:
President George Bush and President Nicolas Sarkozy ate hot dogs and went for a ride on a speedboat together in Maine at the weekend, restoring the chummy Franco-American presidential relations severed by the Iraq war.

Much of the media commentary in France dwelled, however, on the failure of President Sarkozy's wife, Cécilia, to turn up at the Bush family compound in Kennebunkport for what was, in theory, an informal lunch invitation from one first lady to another.

Kennebunkport? Are they serious?

They've always had a summer home here. Lots of rich folks do, which is why the property taxes are through the roof and the people who have had homes on the coast where they work on the ocean for a living are losing their houses after five generations because they can't afford them anymore.

Hooray for tourism.

The Bush home in Kennebunkport actually belongs to the senior Bush, but, GW was just out here entertaining Putin a couple weeks ago as well.

My daughter has been working for a local Bed, Bath and Beyond for the last four summers, she's reported two visits now by Barbara Bush now..Smiley: wink.

Can't really blame Mme Sarkozy for the snub. If she's never killed anyone or had a kid in rehab, what would they have to talk about?

About how hard life is when your power-hungry husband suffers from small-man syndrome...

At least our fearless leader is making his usual amount of sense.
