From recent memory:

I few years back, I was on a little whirlwind trip thru NY, MA, CT, etc, looking at colleges with my daughter. We ended up one night in podunk somewhere NY, in a hotel that had cracks big enough to easily see thru in the door, a shattered tv screen, no phone, and shady characters coming, going and meeting at a bench outside the rooms.

It was crappy, but heck we just needed a bed....

During one of our many trysts, Jeff and I strayed from our Sleep Inn routine and took a cheaper room at the Inns of Virginia, and boy, it couldn't suck enough. I felt like a hooker, and not in a good way.

Motel 6 in Vegas. I did so much coke that night that I ended up playing bones with a bunch of black guys in the parking lot at 4am. Till one of those mother f'uckers tried to cheat me and I blasted his ***.
That's how I roll.

A few years ago my Secretary booked me into a conference in Harrogate (Yorkshire) but forgot to book me an Hotel Smiley: mad

By the time she tried, everywhere was full, but she at last told me she'd found somewhere.

When I arrived it was 4 miles from the Conference Centre, in a rough area and looked dirty, shabby and unwelcoming. I reluctantly walked across the sticky linoleum-floored lobby and asked the chap behind the counter about a room.

"Will you be wanting the room for the whole night sir?"

I didn't check in - slept on the floor in a friend's hotel.

I was 9 years old and staying outside of Drummondville in Quebec. We walk up and down this hotel and everyone is laughing. My mom said later that she didn't have the heart to tell us they were having orgasms. Then we went to our hotel and me and my brother had some quarters.

First we saw "Magic Fingers" and put our quarters in and the bed began to vibrate.

Next, we saw "Movies: 10 minutes for a quarter" and we put our quarters in.

Then my grandparents came in and there I was, sitting on a vibrating bed, watching **** with my brother. My grandmother said, "What kind of hotel is this?"

bulldog Inn, somewhere in georgia. I think it was the cigarette smoke smell that did it for me.

Amsterdam. New Years Eve.

Stupid expensive.
The drain in the shower covered with pubes and a bandaid. Plus, the shower had no walls. It was a shower head dangling from the ceiling with a drain in the floor below.

There was rotten fod in the drawer where the Bible usually is. The drawer was full of mold.

I didn't even pull back the covers on my bed. I slept on top of them, fully clothed from head to toe.

Let's not even get into the characters that frequented that establishment.

Thank Bob I was drunk.

That's nice. Worst one was at Casino Niagra in Niagra Falls. Everytime a bus pulled up it was letting Asians off. They were all wearing Sars masks since it was in full swing at that time. Then I get lucky enough to be next door to apparently the biggest stag party in the history of man. Complete with disgusting crackhead strippers. Never again.

There was the Holiday Inn downtown Shreveport. I got in late and went right to sleep since I had to be up early. About an hour after I got to sleep a train goes by blowing it's horn and shaking the whole building. Then there was another train every 30-60 minutes, making a nice night with next to no sleep. At 4 I finally gave up and got out of bed to get ready for work. I turn on the lights and several cockroaches scatter, and when I got to the shower I couldn't get in with the mold. I then go through my suitcase to check for bugs and check out as quick as I could.

El Rauncho Motel, San Antonio, TX. Bar none, the worst fleabag flophouse ever to receive a business license.

Unfortunately I can't remember the name of it, but several years ago, there was a hotel that we checked into and when we went into the room, I kid you not, there was dog **** on the floor.

What the ****.

most of the hotels in France during a school sponsered trip. The ones in Spain were very moderate-nice, whereas the ones the tour group booked had sagging ceilings, compliants of roaches running around, all sorts of fun stuff.
