Girl says she killed dad...

>>Authorities said animal welfare officers took away an array of animals -- including dogs, cats and rabbits -- from the house last week

Anyone else think this is ironic? House is so unsafe for pets that animal welfare removes them, yet no one bothered to alert HUMAN services about the kids living in the same conditions?

Apologies if this was covered in any earlier posts.

The animals were removed at the same time the kids were: after she shot her father and investigators actually arrived on the scene.

Not sure what point you're making, really.

Back in college, our metals sculpture class was held in the old Snake House, a grey brick affair about as large as a three car garage and previously used by the Life Sciences department to store reptiles.

The reptiles had been moved into the old metals lab. The reason why is because some government department or another ruled that the building was unsuitable for the snakes.

Smiley: dubious

And boy did that building smell foul...

Does Wint also suffer from Altist?

At least all my alts names don't start with the same first 3 letters.

My mistake. From the article it sounded as if they were removed prior to the shooting.

Yeah, it doesn't make the facts very clear. Interesting that the DA was planning on trying her as an adult until they got a look at the house. Place must be a hell hole.

Well, that, and the public sympathy angle.

I would think it would have to be a pretty serious case of abuse for the prosecutor to backpedal that much that quickly.

Often at Universities the way to ensure you have good climate control is to have animals in the building. If the AC or heating breaks, it is an emergency. Whereas if it breaks in, say, a classroom it is far less urgent.

Why? Because it effects you chances of getting that next big money grant.
