Yes, GTAIV is delayed. Am I surprised? A little, I guess.
But if you read some other stuff, you would have noticed that on July 27th, 2007 management postponed ths issue of stock options for two months. Why would you postpone stock options, especially in the face of possibly the best game so far for any console? Because they knew that GTAIV was going to be delayed and they didn't want to loose money out of their own pocket. Bastards.
This is why I like mutual funds....
Lets give it up for the wonderful upper management crooks at Take Two! I hope someone sues the pants off them, but only after GTA IV gets released!

It was better delayed than not... if you had been at E3, you would have noticed just how sh*tTY the gameplay was. The graphics were BEAUTIFUL, but the gameplay was just... I can't even speak of it. I'm glad they decided to take the feedback and work on it, rather then just let it be a PoS game.

I was aiming at the company's that develop the games, not necessarily the programmers. I do find it hard to believe that every MKTG dept just takes a date and plants it into the media.
Ok, maybe not.
id Software had a good way to handle it: they always claimed "two weeks" and then stated that "two weeks" is an unspecified, mostly random amount of time.

looks like the reason for the delay was that alot of people that played it at e3 stated that the gameplay itself was horrible. the graphics were amazing, but people couldnt get past all the gameplay issues. maybe rockstar took their advice and tweaked some things. if thats the case, then i cant really fault them for that.

Man, the day i heard about the delay i had just given the Juiced 2 demo a try and had a blast. Still its probably for the best, there's way too many good games coming out this fall, we need something to look forward to early next year :)
