It's bad enough that half the top stories on CNN are about this ******* bridge thing, but come the **** on. Don't we have enough other stupid **** to spend our time and money on?

If we give in to their demands then the bridges have won.

Illinois is one step ahead of ya. We had guys out visually expecting all the bridges yesterday in advance of a full bridge audit or somesuch.

So don't swim in the water but you can drive over it.

What happened was horrible, absolutely horrible. One of those random accidents that punch you in the gut.

People will rush around inspecting bridges all over to make themselves feel like they have control over the complete randomness that is life. The news anchors will drop horrible lines like "Millions of americans will forever have a different view of crossing a bridge" (paraphrased) because sappy sh'it like that while puddle deep is what people want to hear.

Is there a way we could get global warming to dry up the Mississippi? That would save us a lot of bridge issues.

Aye. Look at Garry Condit, big news then 9/11 happened. The days after 9/11 new casters repeatedly said "just days ago we were wrapped up about this, now we know what is really important, will news like Condit ever seem blah blah blah". 5 years later pictures of Paris Hilton crying in the back of a police car are front line while american soldiers dying in Iraq is barely a headline.

Not that I am surprised by the mobs ADD, just sometimes it is a little frustrating.

Media Channels like CNN is why my wife and I cancelled cable. Sure I miss flipping through 100 channels constantly trying to find something good to watch. But the drama of the 6:00pm evening news was taking years off our life. Now we will live longer!

Bird flu anyone?

Ebola?

SARS?

All labled as civilization enders by the mainstream media...

I do miss the history channel though...

This is why the newspaper will never die. I can skip to any article I want and avoid the front page on most days.
