I hate today. I started out my morning by spilling coffee on myself on my way to work, and as soon as I got here, I did the thing I hate worse than just about anything ever: I replied all to a message that was sent to every staff member of the entire University rather than replying sender. To make it even better...what was said message regarding? Zucchini. Yeah, that's right. Everyone coming to work this morning will have an email from me about zucchini.

What exactly about zucchini? A recipe? A deep-seated laothing? A fetish?

Do you have extra? There are usually piles of zucchini and summersquash from over-zealous gardners...lying on the front desk and free for the taking. None so far here though???

Not really. In an hour I have to go over to Hannah's new preschool (she starts there at the end of the month) to talk to her new teachers. I like them and everything, but the touchy-feely, holistic, "it takes a village to raise a well-rounded and emotionally stable, comfortable with being-me" child is irritating at 9:30am.

Yeah, that would irritate me too so early in the morning. I'm a bitch until I've had my second cup of coffee. Try not to let too many heads roll. The preschool may not think its good for the children to view violence in such a caring setting

A lady I work with had a bunch extra and asked if anyone wanted some. I'm always up for some nice big zucchini and offered to bring a recipe in that I have at home.

So, all of the above, I guess.

Be sure to tell them that she hoards talcum powder for her bomb-making projects.

LOL SEXUAL INNUENDO CAN BE MADE HERE

My mom used to grow zucchini and wind up leaving them on people's doorsteps at night to get rid of the excess.

I forgot I was growing zucchini and when I returned from my vacation several had grown to nearly two feet long. At that point they're not relly good for any sort of human consumption.

They're still good for zucchini bread.

Zucchini w/ raisin bread freezes nicely.

Fridays are work-at-home days for me, and since the only thing on my schedule today is to read this book, it's turning out to not be a very productive day.

But, on a plus side, I don't have to wear pants today!

Happy Friday

I'm going out to lunch shortly with some office mates and they've picked "Red Robbin" - a relatively 'new to the area' chain restaurant. Doesn't sound very tasty, but will get me outta the office for a couple hours.

Who has "Red Robbins Restaurants"? Are they any good?

I ground em up and fed them to the dogs. Oddly, that's the same thing I do with Jehova's Witnesses and teenage runaways.

We have "Red Robin". I've been there once, they are definatley a burger joint.

Burgers weren't bad though, for a chain restaurant. It's not a bad place to grab a lunch.

What's the recipe Nexa?

I'm having a glorious morning! No traffic on the way to work. Some nice thank you notes from some staff for a project I helped out on. Hubby and I chatted this morning on the phone about nonsensical things. The birds are chirping and the trees outside have beautiful flowers blooming. Smiley: grin

The recipe was for zucchini fritters, and I hate you.

Smiley: glare

Update: If one more person tries to nicely and slowly explain to me how to use email and the internet, I'm going to run away from home and find a new job.

It's really very simple, m'dear. You click the "NEW" button, then you click on the "TO" line.....

*sigh*

I'm glad that in between reading emails about how one should correctly email people, I'm answering tech support calls for semi-complicated database implementations.

I'm going to switch over to my blonde voice soon, and say, "Like OH MY GOD! I SOOOO screwed that up! Could you come over to my office and give me, like, some sort of tutorial, or would you rather bring your laptop to dinner?!"

Yes boys, please help me out here, I clearly made a mistake and need your assistance.
