AC can't combat this humidity all the time, though.

It's been miserable in TN the last few days. Humidity around 80-90% with highs in the upper 90's. I'm comfortable now, because it's almost midnight. But it starts around 8:30 a.m. and doesn't let up until about 10 p.m. Smiley: frown Walking outside feels like someone has thrown a hot, damp blanket on you.

QFTMFT

When I'd be up feeding Jack at 3 or 4 a.m. it would still be 72+ degrees here and humid as a mo'fo. That is just not right.

You have Gbaji there though.

80 and sunny would bore me in a hurry, believe it or not. There's pleasure to be had in a crisp fall evening with burning leaves or looking out over your yard covered in fresh snow or seeing spring's first snowdrops poking through the thaw.
Ah, fuck. We're never leaving.

Smiley: inlove very cute picture!

The humidity has been wicked here also. All of our windows have been soaked in condensation on the outside for a week.

I'll agree with Joph. Seasons are nice! I couldn't imagine an 80 degree December or an 80 degree April. I wouldn't mind an 80 degree June/July/August. This 95-100 shit is getting old.

In the Central Valley in California, it regularly gets 95-118 degrees. It sucks.

I miss the seasons too. It's really beautiful in NC in the autumn, because of all the trees, but there's nothing quite like a frosty Canadian morning. You step out of the house, coffee in hand, and breathe in the icy air...before you leg it to your car, mumbling something about freezing your *** off.

I love it.

It was 101 here in Pittsburgh yesterday. Humid as hell. It's already 85 out and it's only 7:22am. Did I mention the air conditioning at work is out? Smiley: cry

My wonderful new job gives me the pleasure of slogging through Manhattan in a Shitty little Sundance with no A/C during these hellish summer days. On the good days I get lost in Brooklyn and find an uncapped fire hydrant to drive through, spraying into the car.

And, DSD, the kitchen sink? You wash dishes in there, you know!

Tristan and Mr. Ambrya and I just spent the week hanging out with friends at their condo at http://www.blackbutteranch.com/ and it was lovely, especially the pools, where Tristan got his first experience with swimming. Didn't hurt that it got so cool in the evenings that a well-timed system of opening and closing the windows kept the UN-air-conditioned condo cool even when the daytime temp hovered somewhere between "oh my God" and "kill me now."

Whatever, you're getting orders to Hawaii so stop your complaining, even if that is your schtick.

My orders fell through due to not having a high enough clearance. Apparently, I am not super-secret squirrel enough for them. Smiley: frown

Believe it or not, when I was selecting orders, there were all of 4 for Lemoore, Japan and Whidbey Island are screaming for people. 2/3rds of available orders where for Whidbey Island. I might just go to Washington State. Lot's of outdoors kind of stuff to do up there (camping, fishing). I like that kind of stuff, also Seattle isn't that far away. Bonus side: It isn't a desert.

OMG GLOBAL WARMING EVERYBODY PANIC!!!

What? No one else did it yet.

On a related note, I am reminded of a news bit I heard several months ago. Someone mentioned how it was unseasonably cold. Now, granted, it *was* about 5 degrees (F) but this was in February, in New York. The dead of winter. The time of year it gets the coldest. How can it be un*seasonably* cold in February? Unusually cold, yes. Unreasonably cold, maybe. Balls-freezing-to-your-own-thighs cold, definately. but not unseasonably! If that's true, then when it hits 100F tomorrow, I'm gonna call them up and argue that it's unseasonably HOT and see what they say.
