but it's getting to be a bit too hot for too long for my taste now. Been up in the 90's for the past week, and we dont get a cool down of 82 until Sunday, where it will then sky rocket back to the 90's. No AC here. I've been trying to stay cool by giving the baby a bath (until he figured out how to use the hose and soaked me, him, and our entire kitchen before I could wrest it away from him), having us both eat popsicles, and generally stay in skimpy clothing.

Whats the weather like for you guys?

Hot and muggy, in the 90's.

But it's Chicago in August. It's supposed to be hot and muggy.

Oh, and we city folk have air conditioning Smiley: grin

I can deal with 90-95 with low humidity. I like it just fine. I can handle 75-85 with medium humidity with little issues. It's only when its 90s with medium to high humidity that lasts for a week + that I start to think that I want a more private backyard so I can strip down to my underwear and not worry about giving the neighborhood kids (and dads) something to gossip about.

Sometimes, I'm jealous that my boys can get away with undies only, where I have to put more clothes on.

I love San Diego. As always, it's around 80 degrees, sunny with a slight breeze and small patches of clouds in the bright blue sky. Smiley: grin

You have Gbaji there though.

80 and sunny would bore me in a hurry, believe it or not. There's pleasure to be had in a crisp fall evening with burning leaves or looking out over your yard covered in fresh snow or seeing spring's first snowdrops poking through the thaw.

I grew up there. I've never had proper "seasons". I lived in Riverside, CA for a while and I could walk out and see snow dusting the mountaintops in the winter, and suffer through 115 F summers.

Now I live in Camarillo, CA and oh my god the weather is perfect.

Neither my home nor office have air conditioning. I have a ceiling fan and a radiator steam heater in the office. There is about a week during the summer per year where it gets uncomfortable - but I have a North facing window (a bit worse with the South facing).

But I think the weather is a bit like sport. I grew up playing American football with all my friends - and I love it. I can see the allure of ice hockey and soccer - particularly as spectator sports - as I can see the beauty of snow and colorful foliage - but I just love what I have.

The Carolinas would be perfect because every interior building has central ac. We New Englanders usually only need AC about 4 days out of the year. Waste of good money, most of the time
