I believe it just might have something to do with the insistance that all tax cuts are a good thing.

You know how those democrats just LOVE to tax and spend!

By the way: Moe, check in!

I just think that we should put our own infrastructure maintenance before that of, say, some pissant sand country on the other side of the world. Naieve of me, I know.

Checking in. My son and I were watching Curious George. It ended, so I turned the channel and saw a picture of billowing black smoke and the wreckage of a bridge in the background. I was immediately taken back 17 and a half years to watching TV signals flicker back in with non-stop images of billowing black smoke and fallen bridges. Bad memories. This time at least I knew where my parents were.

Thanks, Governor Pawlenty for insisting on tax cuts and repeatedly refusing to adequately fund our infrastructure. The people of Minnesota salute you!

This kind of thinking typifies liberals. "You mean only 40% of your income goes to taxes?"

Maybe we should spend a little less money on people in Minnesota who contribute nothing and instead keep safe the roads that people who actually pay the taxes have to take to make money?

That's about the silliest thing I ever heard. They should pay for their own damn roads with higher gas taxes. NOTHING MUST TAKE AWAY FREE SERVICES FROM LEECHES!!! Power to the degenerate welfare bums!

I'm sorry. Did you present some kind of numbers showing that the federal funding for the interstate highway system was cut in order to pay for playing in said pissant sand?

Or are you just repeating empty rhetoric designed to appeal to people who don't think too hard? ;)

Nope, pure baseless conjecture on your part. Never even mentioned that our infrastructure budget was being cut. Obviously, though, it's been lacking quite a bit for some time. We could be spending *more* time and money than currently being spent on infrastructure.

If wanting to improve the blatant shortcomings of looking after our own people is empty rhetoric, than so be it.
