After the reformation (albeit temporary) of Pink Floyd, followed by The Who, Take That, Duran Duran, and The Spice Girls. . .

I've heard a (new) strong whisper that Led Zeppelin are reforming with Jason Bonham standing in for his dead daddy.

I know these rumoUrs recycle every few years, but this would be a mistake. I heard Planty sing last year at an invitation-only gig and frankly, he doesn't have it any more.

For those that never saw the original line-up, just stick with the vintage recordings, bootlegs and videos.

For those of us that did - the memories are better than any reunion could be.

Please lads - don't do it. A Swansong is a Swansong

Agreed. I have nothing else to say other than it would just be wrong.

These old bands that keep touring with their old stuff, especially at "cool" festivals like Glastonbury, piSs me off.

I know all this "old bands reforming and touring" thing about the money, but it would be nice if all rock stars just died at 35 .

Fair point, mon ami

I doubt they could get Jimmy Page to stop admiring himself long enough to pick up a guitar again.

I get equally offended when a couple members of a band reform with several new members but keep the same name. Such as The Cars adding Todd Rundgren for their upcoming tour. Now, I dig Todd Rundgren at least as much as the next guy, but they should come up with a new name, perhaps "The Bikes" or "Crocoduile Rundy and His Magnificent Auto".

Steely Dan also still "has it".

I can't imagine Led Zeppelin being very good without John Bonham, or being aged as they are. I'll just stick with How the West Was Won for my live Zeppelin needs.

The Used Cars.
