We're all crazy in Maine

Maine Woman Sues Fidel Castro In Father's Death

BELFAST (AP) -- A woman from Stockton Springs has filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Cuban leader Fidel Castro.

Sherry Sullivan contends Castro caused the death of her father, Geoffrey Sullivan, a pilot who she says was shot down over Cuba and imprisoned in 1963 while on a covert mission.

Sullivan filed her lawsuit in May in Superior Court in Belfast, but the judge delayed action until last week while considering how to serve papers to the defendants, who also include Castro's brother Raul, the Cuban army and the Republic of Cuba.

Mills finally sent a Spanish translation of the suit to Cuba by registered mail, but has yet to receive proof of its delivery to the parties named.

The suit says Castro and his co-defendants are liable under a 1996 law that allows victims of states that have been identified as sponsors of terrorism to sue for damages.

I hope Castro sends her something...like an "I LOVE CUBA" t-shirt or a copy of Sicko.

I think we are still holding assets of Cuba from back in the late 50's so she may have something to get.

Ever notice that Cuba and Tuba both rhyme, and you could hide a short range nuclear missile in either?

yet you can't use either one to Scuba.

Your mother's a *****. You like to jack off dogs. That's right, you heard me. You like to grab that dog by the bone and rub it like a ski pole. Your dad? Gay. Your priest? Straight. **** off and let me post. It's not true, it's all in good fun. Now go away.

I know...some would say boring, but I like it better than places with more exciting news, haha.

Some stories for today: Counterfeit Money Issues in which we find that someone turned down a possibly fake bill, not that it was, but it's good that she was paying attention.

The DOT is repairing a local sidewalk

Some Amish people moved into the state

and apparently, one of the vets at the Bangor Humane Society is retiring

I feel informed now.

Smiley: nodThe only thing crazy is that she waited so long. If the suit is served, I believe a US Court will hear the case and decide if she can have some of Castro's confiscated phatLootz.

I just thought because of the (AP). Ok, now that I know.

How would any court serve (maybe, The Fed, International Courts) Fidel Castro? It's not like he does business here? The way it works (in Iowa) is he would have to have some sort of contact with the state he was being sued in. Through business on the Net (because that would imply contact with that state of business) or a family member in the state. They can't just serve him a summons in Cuba because he is being sued in Maine. It doesn't work like that. Seems illegal and frivulous.

Wheres Jophs big *** brain when ya need em?

With as many times as I've watched that scene I can never figure if it was just a mistake on Sammy L's part to ***** it up and call him Brad and QT decided it was to good of a take to cut, or if it was intentional to ***** up his name.

On that note, widows of soldiers that died in Iraq should start suing Sadams estate.

Because wartime deaths are the fault of the defending country.

I had an employee up and quit on me a couple years ago because he did win a last suit against Sadam, that the US paid out of booty monies. (a nearly $two million settlement, and so, not even a two-week notice!!)...and he didn't even die. He was civilian (retired military) at the time, but working for the US Military while he was being held captive.

It really comes down to the 'victims' status and the damage. It doesn't say if this guy was military or civilian, (at least the blurb I read) but it does say he was 'imprisoned'. That's usually good for some cash.

maybe he just used the name because it flows better... Big Brain Brad
His character seems the type to just throw random words into his sentence to make it sound good. just like
"my name's Pit, and your *** ain't talkin' your way out of this ****"
or also perhaps the Brad thing is seen as a typical White Boy name in those parts...
If you notice in Requiem for a Dream Marlon Wayons' character calls Leto's "Jim" when the character's name was Harry.

So what happened now? some Moose-rider is getting the IRA to attack Cuba?

Right but "Brad" is listed as Brett in the (and referred to) credits.
