Hot off the press!! the Power station is SAVED!! thanks to HMS Ocean ships company!! they sent 50 of our lads and lasses up there on sunday afternoon and they have spent the last 2 days building a sandbag wall to halt the flood before the Sub-station. They won the fight by a massive 2 inches at the peak late last night.

They have been working 10 hour shifts and sleeping on the floor in a TA center from all accounts.

More details to follow when they get back tomorrow.
Indeed. The boys and girls of the armed forces, Fire & Rescue, Paramedics and other state-funded Oompah-Loompahs have done an amazing job.

I 've spoken to three Emergency Co-ordinators who had to abandon their own flooded homes over the weekend to help organise helicopters and hospital evacuations.

Good job we didn't have to rely on FEMA after all.

We'll pass, but thanks.

The pay-off is usually too high!

Or the Army Corps of Engineers.

I'm sure Brown has no objections to playing with Bush at lego for a few hours.

If it cost any more than that, then it better be a damn good package.
