Didn't happen.

I had been mulling over the move to Ottawa for a long time and how I felt about the GF (I like her more than my inane ******** on this forum would indicate). So I sucked it up, applied for a college down in Ottawa, saved up the simoleans to pay for a cross country move and continued to work like a dog to save up for college and also a ring, yes the type of ring you present upon proposal, not the kind brown kind that Totes seems to have an endless fascination with.

Fast forward to this Friday I get off work early and I am cooking dinner for my girlfriend when I see her get off the bus with a giant piece of luggage, interested and figuring she will need help lugging it up the stairs to our top storey apartment I head down quick to help her. Half way up the stairs she says the much dreaded 'we need to talk', the last time she dropped that on me was the pregnancy scare so I knew something was coming. We got up into the apartment, exchanged some pleasantries and then she dropped the bombshell.

'I don't want you to move to Ottawa with me.'

I could go over the entire drama and the things said but in the end the important thing to note is that I am now single, I am looking for a new apartment, I got accepted to the school in Ottawa but will be staying put. The silver lining is that if she doesn't change her mind in the next 48 hours I can probably use the ring money to fly myself to Chicago and back.

Maybe I'm a heartless *******, but I think you're beyond the "if she changes her mind" stage. I feel for ya, but better now than after you moved.

Welcome back to the brotherhood. You fUcking pansy-***.

Sorry to hear it, B. Maybe it's for the best - my advice: get a dog...and then join some online dating mmorpgs and get out there and meet some fun women! It's working for me! Smiley: grin

Well that was unexpected (at least from what I can tell). Any big reasons (such as, she's actually an Asylum poster and knows all your secrets), or nothing you care to discuss? I'm sorry and happy for you at the same time, hopefully you'll find someone who doesn't want to move to Canada next time around. Smiley: thumbsup

I'm glad she grew some balls for the both of you, since it had become apparent you weren't going to. Now you can move on with your life, and she can move on to Ottawa, where she'll no doubt be bouncing on the **** of a new dork with homosexual tendencies in no time.

Really though, you're bound to be better off. Like Kakar said, you're a fUcking pansy-***, so just be thankful she made this decision now instead after you blew your wad on a ring and moved cross-country with her.

Not heartless at all. It is over, I know it I am just having a hard time accepting the fact. There is heart breakingly small chance the things I said might change how she feels but it is so slim and minute I hold no real hope of it and I have resigned myself to the way things played out, but there is that irrational part of you that holds onto it even though you know better.

Situation like that there is so much you want to say but you can never manage to get it out the way you want. At least this is how it has been for me in the past, either I haven't said it and regretted it or said it and it has come out entirely wrong. This time though I said it and it came out just right, whether it changes anything I have not a fracking clue but at least I won't be mulling over 'what ifs and I shoulda's"

I think I had figured out my sh'it a while ago and decided what I really wanted when something bad happened A situation you might be familiar with, I had a buddy and his wife was banging a guy on the side who liked commitment free sex. My buddy found out and was having a hard time dealing with the infidelity and the straw that broke the clusterf'uck that was the situation was his 2 year old daughter called him the name of the guy his wife was ******* on the side. He disappeared for a couple days and the next time someone saw him he was hanging from the underside of the bridge we used to play under when we were kids.

I got my sh'it together and got over the petty sh'it I had been moaning about, the problem being that it was entirely too late to make a difference and here I am. Thanks for the feedback though, glad you took the time out of sifting through pig **** and ruining peoples lives to try and cauterize my wound.

Isn't Bhodi a canuck anyway?

Move to Calgary Bhodi. Best city in Canada for a single guy. Trust me on this. Unless you're under 22, then try Halifax.

Other than a possible trip to Chicago I am either going to spend my moving money on strippers or school. I am not sure which yet. That or pick up an asian girl, I heard they have sidewise vaginas (thumb you need to post a pick proving/disproving this or else stay out of the conversation)

I really am sorry Bodhi. All the foreshadowing doesn't really make it any easier to deal with once it happens. I hope you can make it to Chicago.

That about sums it up.

After the hearbreak wears off a bit I expect you'll feel a lot of relief.

I have to agree, though, you're as much of a pUssy as Chandler.

Just chug a dozen espressos, hit her in the eye, then run around the block yelling "I'M FREE!! I'M FREEE! FREEEEEEEE!"

Well, the band-aid's been ripped off, and I imagine that in the long run you won't regret a thing. Better things will come along, although it may not feel like it right now. I'm sorry for your heartbreak, but I can't urge you enough to never look back.

You have my condolences, Bodhi.

However, while the end of any relationship invariably sucks, given the level of ambivalence you have professed many times over (which has obviously been reciprocated) I can't help but believe this is for the best and certainly long overdue.

Have fun in Chicago, then go home, dust yourself off, and move on.
