Besides the DIY network or Homedepot.com or other retailers, can anyone recommend a good DIY website that has guides to small projects and stuff? I'm talking for the carpentry retarded here.

This site has some hit or miss free plan type stuff. About 75% actual plans 25% junk.:

What kind of projects are you looking for?

These are some basic DIY crafty sites.

You can try Crafster or Craftbits - for all kinds of crafty goodness.

For things a little more intricate, you can also try the ReadyMade, Make or Craft magazine sites.

I was always a bigger fan of Norm Abram myself. And Bobby Flay sucks ***. Both him and Cat Cora are the worst "Chefs" on TV.

Take a look at Heston Blumenthal (Owner of The Fat Duck...UK restaurant), or Shirley Corriher, who wrote CookWise: The Hows and Whys of Successful Cooking, or Harold McGee, who wrote On Food and Cooking: The Science and Lore of the Kitchen...it's all very topical at present.

Actually, I was just kidding before, implying that you wouldn't necessarily "know" that someone knew anything about Molecular Gastronomy since it doesn't often come up in conversation if you're not actually a chef. I just excel at googling. See how my powers could be used for evil (*coughgbajicough*)?
