Was reading the blog of a friend of mine a few days ago and he went on and on about Ann Coulter.
So, who the hell is Ann Coulter? Evidently she managed to get him pretty riled up.
Being kind of disconnected from the world at large these days, and spending most of my time out to sea, I had no idea who the hell he was talking about. So, I googled her and went out and bought two of her books, just to see what all the fuss was bout.
They were titles "Godless" and "How to Talk to a Liberal"
I finished Godless today...
And I feel sick...
The entire time I was reading it, I got the distinct impression that I was sitting next to a snake oil salesman...with tits...and a contract with the devil...
Phrases that never made any real impact on me before suddenly became very pertinent
phrases like "Wallowing in Sin"
I have always believed that a polarized political environment can only exist at the detriment to the people and the country they exist in. Reading this "woman"'s work makes me more certain than ever.
Holy crap.
I feel like I need to take a bath in holy water now. This book just made me feel disgusted and repulsed on a level I haven't experienced in years.
Any thoughts, aside from the obvious?

She's an extremist nutjob but I suppose at least she gets paid to be an extremist nutjob. Most just do it for free.

Inflicted the book on another friend of mine who is about as uninvolved with the politics of the day as I am.
Want to see what he thinks of it when he's done.
So far he's like thirty pages into it and is already using words like "bigot", "racist" and "self congratulatory logic"
Pretty sure he's going to see it a lot like I did.
