Are people still active on Shadow Council, or is Lunatics dead (long live the guild!)?

Lunatics is dead, I believe there might be one or two people still playing on the server. There are some Asylumites on Steamwheedle but I don't know their info , the WoW forum posters have an Alliance guild on Anetheron, they are good guys but the server is very underpopulated.

I'm playing alliance on a pvp server in a raiding guild but frankly I don't really have a zen to play with any of you wads, I can't help but make drama around y'all. Bad influences the lot of you!

I play Vanguard all alone.

I tried to get back into WoW a couple months ago, with Chester on Shadow Council none the less, and while it was fun playing with DSD the game just doesn't do it for me any more.

I have a buddy key for Vanguard, though, if anyone wants to download the 20gig client to try it out!

You Lie! By the way you missed a great raid last night on Vyemm. They decided to use me as sacrifice for SK throughout the night. I think I found my calling.

I still play on Shadow Council, but I've gone horde. The Mr and I are playing on two priests by the name of Null and Void. And I'm only playing a couple times a week as my old guild in EQ2 managed to dust themselves off and get back into the game.

Hmm. I guess I could always start an alt over yonder (since alts are free and all). The g/f is happy with SC for now, so I'll keep the old toons there then. The early levels are made a bit more convieniant when you can toss a few 12-16 slot bags at your alts.

And Bodhi, you don't create drama when you're around other asylumites. No, what you do transcends drama. It's art in a pure sense. Smiley: grin

I had planned on getting on and raiding with Bane DSD, however I got my epic flyer and started the netherdrake quest line and then got dragged into doing Kara until 1 in the morning.

Didn't they discontinue the game? Smiley: confused

I thought it died weeks after opening.

SOE picked them up after MS dropped them, they were just housing servers and providing CSR, Sigil was still in control of the product and development. However after extremely lackluster sales and poor customer retention Sigil sold the game entirely to SOE. That happened a couple weeks ago. There are some very good interviews with ex-sigil employees explaining how fubared the development of the game was.

It's still the best single-player game I've ever played.

Honestly, the population issues are no worse than say, EQ at this point, and with server merges imminent I expect it to be much better within the month. SOE is supposedly going to do a "relaunch" and market the game intensively beforehand in hopes of pulling it back from the brink. They did a good job getting EQ2 back on track after the initial horrible reviews and lackluster sales, I'm hoping they can do the same with VG.

That said, where the fuCk is my Pirates' beta invite?

I'm still in LoTRO, but I play almost exclusively in the PvP subgame. My poor Captain's been sitting, staring at the red waters of the Fell-Pool (portal to PvP game) for weeks while my giant spider gains more infamy and ranks.

Joph loves PvP, whoda thunk it?

As for VG, if anyone can re-market a game it is SOE. However as EQ2 proved overcoming the initial stigma of a lackluster release is a very hard thing to do and even then success is guaged by rather low benchmarks. Considering VG caters to a very niche market and managed to alienate a large part of that market things don't look good for it.

As for Pirates beta, only the cool kids got in, sorry.

<---- cool kid

I actually hated PvP in every other MMORPG I've played except for "guild event in the arena" type situations. I don't know exactly LoTRO's Player vs Monster-Player grabbed me but it's my main focus in the game these days.

I didn't get a Pirates beta invite but my system is barely on par with their minimum specs so I assume that shut me out regardless of how amazing my essay on pirates was.

I am still playing EQ, in fact I had a screenshot a couple days ago and was alla's player of the week a few months ago too. I find that since I don't get too play that often, I never get burned out on it.

You on Meneldor? I play Ceria, a Weaver who has been stuck at R3 for far too long.

I switched srevers to join a guild I liked. Unfortunately, after the merges occur, I'll be on the PvE server that doesn't absorb Hilsbury.

In some ways I liked the Dirk Gentley novels better than the 'Guide books. Better storytelling, for one thing. On the other hand, the 'Guide novels are a bit easier to read. I wouldn't say either was "better" than the other (well, the 'Guides after So Long... were meh), just different tastes depending on my mood.

I've finally gotten around to picking up Salmon of Doubt and am a little hesistant to read it knowing that, after that, no more new Adams for me. Fuckin' ***** Fate. Smiley: mad
