We had a pretty general idea last time and ended up splitting into a couple of groups according to interest at a couple different points (like one day a bunch of folks went to a museum while others went shopping). I think we should plan on grabbing dinner on Friday night and then maybe having drinks afterward or something, breakfast/brunch together Saturday morning, then whatever activities folks wanna do, together or separately, etc...then meet up again for dinner. That kinda thing. That way people don't feel obligated to go do something they don't like or to spend more money than they have budgeted.

Anyway, that's my opinion, I welcome yours. I'll ignore it if it's different than mine though. :D

I'm just happy the primary hotel has a bar and the other hotel we're using is within walking distance, haha.

it's fine to split into groups, and I think thats the best idea, but do we have a general idea of what activities to choose from?

There were several suggestions in the journal thread: http://wow.allakhazam.com/journal.html?user=287827;mid=1169838709157834510;num=69;page=1

Tricky posted tons of fun suggestions. I'm up for nearly anything, but especially comedy clubs or the improv comedy places he mentioned, the duelling piano place, or for the day time, any of the zoos. There's also the aquarium and the navy pier, which I've been to before, but would be happy to go to again. I just can't really afford anything expensive...meals/drinks will pretty much eat up my budget.

Navy Pier would be great for the Air and Water show. Outside of that I'm pretty good at going with the flow.

I think locals might want to avoid it for the very same reason. The Air and Water Show is an unmitigated crush, I hear.

Just a bump to request that folks attending take a look at the Friday night dinner options thread in Flea's journal and give me some feedback when they get a chance (even if it's to say that you don't care, I just want to know that you looked at it and had a chance to get an opinion in). I'd like to make the reservation by Friday. Additionally, check the list and let me know if you should be on it but aren't, shouldn't be on it, or if you're there but bringing a guest and I didn't note it.

Thanks,

Nexa

FUck you guys. I'll be in San Antonio at a goddamned dog show, but I'll bring my Nexa doll so the weekend will be a bit more bearable. Before you even ask, yeah, I'll take pics.

I wish I could, but someone has to keep an eye on the Nexa doll while she's in Texas. The filthy little *****.

Seriously, though, trips like this one to San Antonio will allow me to take frivolous weird trips to meet internet aquaintances for years to come, hopefully. Although I expect that next year's gathering will be scheduled concurrently with my trip to Hawaii.

Nexadoll is gonna love Hawaii, though.

I hear South Africa is lovely this time of year, and to Americans they sound just the same as Londoners, but only charge you $1 for a beer instead of $12.
