OSHKOSH, Wisconsin (AP) -- A woman attending a Christian festival died Saturday after plunging about 45 feet from a bungee-like amusement ride.

Workers at the Lifest 2007 event shut down the Air Glory ride after the accident, which occurred about 4:45 p.m. A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. and the music festival resumed about 7:30 p.m.

The part I bolded cracked me up. Woman dies at 5, party back on track by 7:30. Ahhh, you have to love the faithful.



"(The person) hit the ground and she was not moving at all," Childers told the Oshkosh Northwestern newspaper.

Ummm, yeah, I'd say so.

There are so many jokes in there...Lifefest, starting the music again, Christians, OshKosh etc etc.

Actually, heaven is upwards. Not where she was going unfortunately!

I will never bungee jump again. That was dumbest thing I ever did.

I'm from Wisconsin too and this is the first I've heard of it. I guess the telegraph wires from Oshkosh to Milwaukee are faster than to me in Madison.

As to the festival resuming at 7:30 pm. Well, we won't let something damper our partying. As a matter of fact, the girl dying became the reason to party. It was a memorial service, impromptu wake, etc.
