Tennis is the best thing I've played on the Wii. How is zelda? I've only played on the Wii once and it took a good 15 mins just to get used to it, let alone get good at it.

Super Paper Mario is good. Haven't played WarioWare, but going by the trackrecord, it's a smash to play.
#7 Jul 13 2007 at 1:28 PM Rating: Good
WarioWare is good, but it's really good if played with a bunch of people.

Another solid (if abit quirky) game is Trauma Center: Second Opinion. It's an action game, but can get fustrating at times to play.

Resident Evil 4 for the Wii is probably the best shooter out for the platform right now. I didn't like Red Steel, and you can definately tell that the game was somewhat rushed out.

As said before...Super Paper Mario is fun. It's one of my two favorite RPGs out for the platform right now (the other being Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess).

Hope that helps!

Sonic and the Secret Rings is pretty fun, but the controls are somewhat hard to pick up initially.

We have a Wii on order. Hopefully we'll get it sometime this week. The first thing I'm getting is Zelda. The hubby wants Madden football.

You might as well wait for the next Madden at this point (comes out in August or September or something). I'd imagine it will use the Wiimote better in the second year.

We were just poking around at Game Spot, and it looks like there are regular controllers for the Wii. Wouldn't some of the games (like Madden football) work better on one of those?

No.

The "regular" (i.e. old stlye) controllers are for the classic games you download off of their service.

All the new games use the WiiMote and can require use of the Nunchuck dealie.

That was the first one I bought too. Consider getting Wii play for the extra remote.

I have a hard time with Tiger Woods for a few minor reasons. The biggest gripe is that you can't customize which clubs you have in your bag. For example, I personally carry the driver (1-wood), 3- and 5-woods, then irons 3-9, SW, PW, LW. The character you create comes with the 2-iron instead of the 5-wood, and you can't change that. Fine, I'll get over it - except that some of the Pro players on the game *do* have the 5W in place of the 2I. That pisses me off! Smiley: mad

And I have a horrible habit of pull-hooking every shot I make with the Wiimote, though in real life I hit rather straight or a bit of a fade.

I disagree with the recommendation for WarioWare. The single player mode was fine, but I felt the multiplayey was lacking. The game is fast paced, and it is a little odd that they expect players to switch controllers between each mini-game.

Trauma Center and Super Paper Mario, as said before, are both great.

Super Monkey Ball is another title that did well to retain the positive qualities from the prior games in the series. The general gist is that there is a monkey in a ball (hence the title) and you need to guide said simian to the goal. The party games aspect is fun, but the controls in both the single and multiplayer modes can be a little TATFU.

I have yet to try it, but I am sure Mario Party 8 would be great.

Actually they are wrong about the controllers. Right now, the classic controller is for VC games, as is the GC controller. That is changing though since they are releasing games that let you choose like Smash Bros Brawl. This means that other developers may put the same choices in their games as well when the wiimote is not required. Such as sport games.

Super Paper Mario is my favorite on the console so far. I didn't like it as much as the Gamecube one, but it was good!

half correct. the old style controller is for the older games. Wii didnt get greedy and made their game 100 percent backward compatable unlike Xbox and PS3. you can use either remote with the Wii.

some of the Wii games will also work with the old controller. they give you a choice.

best of both worlds. all your game cube games will work on the Wii along with the old style controller. just some of the newer game require the numchuck add on controller and wil not work well with the old controller. it will still work, you just may loose some function.

Wii rocks. half as much money, twice as much fun. doesnt take a rocket scientist to see why Wii is outselling Xbox and PS3 combined. they delivered better graphics, Wii delivered.....fun.

Fun is relative. My Wii is for sale actually, got tired of the sports and warioware (which was fun, for a while anyway) and I just can't find any other game to enjoy on it. True, there are hardly any games available, but that also goes for the PS3. And I refuse to get an Xbox out of principle (which are totally messed up, I do admit).

Even tried Zelda and I do not see the attraction so many people see in it.

(forgot to add: I can see how many people can enjoy this console, especially at the price it is sold for. It's just not for me)

I was watching the grandkids play Sonic on their Wii Friday. Two year old had no idea of what to do with the nunchuck, but still able to occasionally beat her 5 year old brother, while racing for the rings.

I tried a few swings in the WiiSports golf and tennis. Didn't take long for me ton give up, since my arm quickly became sore.

Actually I'm just posting to show off the new avatar, my youngest just made. She needed a place to put it , so she could have it link on another site. So of course I stoled it.

I had a blast with Wii sports - on vacation we visited a family which had one. All they need is to hook up the wiimote and a "Dance Dance Revolution" pad to a MMO game with the addictiveness of WoW and presto! home gym. Could put a dent in the current health problems of the US. Seriously.

Actually, they just need a wii-mote clone for the PC. That way anyone can manufacture it...and there is a lower barrier to write games for it.

Actual Wii game recommendations? Sorry once I found the baseball game under wii sports, I was hooked.

as i have only played Rayman's Raving Rabbits, Zelda, and Wii Sports, I have to say i like rabbits way better then zelda (oh the wife also has pirates and its ok) and Wii tennis is the best.

The only real down side to Rabbits, is that it is not a true multi player like Wii Tennis. Heck you can get 4 people swinging their motes around and it can get really crazy with the tennis. Rabbits is still a blast for all ages 6 and up or so. my boy likes it, but he can only do a few of the games as he just does not understand the details yet. he is only 4.

he is the king of boxing though :P
