Anyone have an experience with any recommended programs? I've downloaded the demo for Blaze Media Pro which is doing the trick, but would like to hear if there are any cheaper (i.e. free) alternatives.

Wouldn't just downloading the MP3 be about 900 time easier?

Some of the 2hr live sets are impossible to find and even harder to get someone to stay online long enough to nab the whole thing.

I can't believe that no one records streaming music...

Shadowrelm does. I remember him going off on some tangent about how he records streaming music on the web and puts it on his non-iPod MP3 player and so he stick it to the man.

So... I dunno -- PM Shadowrelm or something. Or else make use of the search engine.

Both of those options sound like asking your buddy to stick his ding-a-ling in the "surprise love" box in Tijuana.

I'd rather not.

Ever try to do search strings on someone who types with his face?

Anyway, he said that he used Replay. But it costs $40.

Well you tell him to get back out there and find a cheaper solution.

I'll take a look. Thanks.

I don't use 8 track tapes or record songs off the radio anymore, either.

What is it you're trying to record? The chance that you can't find it online somewhere is close to nil.

You'd be able to record live radio mixes, such as on air sets or concert streams.

RipCast I have been using it for two years. Great program, it isn't free (well free to try) costs $17 I believe for the full version. Well worth it IMHO.

yep.

replay.

its a program that records music or video as it plays on your computer then saves it to a MP3 or video file you can load to whatever you want. its about 40 bucks to buy online. i am sure there are other programs out there that to the same thing.

heres the skinny. it is illegal to download copyrighted material. thats theft. however, the supreme court ruled becuase of a lawsuit brought by the entertanment industry reguarding the VCR, that an individual has the right to "record" something in his own home for his own use.

downloading a MP3 file is theft. copying something playing on your computer is 100 percent legal.

legitimate download sites load a program that puts an expiration date on it when you load it. if you dont subscribe to their site and plug your player into it, after a time, it stops playing. and it cant be transfered to another player or even another computer without eventually expiring at some point.

however.....

you can subscribe with a minimum membership, and play whatever you want, at night with the sound off, and record it with replay and end up with a file you can load on anything you want, any time you want, any where you want without any restrictions, experations, or continued subscriptions to worry about.

freedom from the pay per month industry. as it should be.

***** the man.
