Shadowrelm does. I remember him going off on some tangent about how he records streaming music on the web and puts it on his non-iPod MP3 player and so he stick it to the man.

yep.
replay.
its a program that records music or video as it plays on your computer then saves it to a MP3 or video file you can load to whatever you want. its about 40 bucks to buy online. i am sure there are other programs out there that to the same thing.
heres the skinny. it is illegal to download copyrighted material. thats theft. however, the supreme court ruled becuase of a lawsuit brought by the entertanment industry reguarding the VCR, that an individual has the right to "record" something in his own home for his own use.
downloading a MP3 file is theft. copying something playing on your computer is 100 percent legal.
legitimate download sites load a program that puts an expiration date on it when you load it. if you dont subscribe to their site and plug your player into it, after a time, it stops playing. and it cant be transfered to another player or even another computer without eventually expiring at some point.
however.....
you can subscribe with a minimum membership, and play whatever you want, at night with the sound off, and record it with replay and end up with a file you can load on anything you want, any time you want, any where you want without any restrictions, experations, or continued subscriptions to worry about.
freedom from the pay per month industry. as it should be.
***** the man.
