I caught sight of one of the most brilliant rainbows I've seen. Only one other compares and I saw it when I was 13. This one was extra cool as it started showing a double rainbow. The pictures don't come close to doing it justice.

So big I couldn't get the whole thing!
Double rainbow 1
Double rainbow 2

Beautiful. Nice photos.

Saboruto will be clapping his little hands in glee and imagining crop-top T-shirts as we speak.

Rainbows are one of those pointless things that serve no purpose other than to make us stare and feel slightly better about the world.

The only thing that challenges them for sheer mindless beauty is the Northern Lights. (or maybe Darqflame's dimples when she smiles)

I've yet to stare at the wonder of the northern lights in person, but its on my list of things to see before I die. We had a downpour that actually grayed out the houses across the street (ones in the pic)so you could barely see them, and a fast but violent thunderstorm. About five minutes later it was still down pouring but I noticed the golden glint coming in our bay window. I commented to Zavi that this is the kind of weather you see rainbows and we might get lucky. Sure enough, we ambled over and it was just starting to show. Good timing for us! It took 5 minutes to get as big and full as it did, then slowly faded away. During that time I just grabbed the camera and snapped a few shots from the bay window and our front door. First full rainbow for the kids. Im glad it was as amazing as it was.

My son and I saw a beauty of a rainbow the other week. It was kind of humbling because circumstances had us running late getting home and I was a little peeved about it but then we saw this huge rainbow and I realized that we would have missed it if we had been on time.

Why are there so many songs about rainbows?
And what's on the other side?

one of my favorite lullabies, Joph.

Rainbows are visions
They're only illusions
Rainbows have nothing to hide

Rainbows are pretty
We're all going to die
Rainbows are beautiful
Mummy & Daddy will die one day
Rainbows make you smile
But one day you are going to die

I sang that to Dracoid every night.

I sing that, St Judys comet, and All the Little Ponies. He may be a dork, but Kenny Loggins has an amazing lullabye cd that is just made to put babies to sleep.

I just wanted to see 3 girls making out at the same time. That happened in grade 11 so I've been pretty content since then. The northern lights were something I grew up around so I am jaded about that, seeing three girls open mouth kiss though at the age of 17 and getting licked in the process, well that was down right magical!

Whilst I concur, it's not a given (Think Niobia, Katie and Growlingbunny /shudder)

I would scratch that off mate, honestly they are worth looking at for 0.4 of a second at best. They rank very low on the list of sights i would recommend.

Sunsets in the Caribbean, early morning clouds pouring over the side of a Fjord, a bull elephant ready to charge now that sh*t is worth seeing.

Nice pictures DSD. Only rainbows I have seen tend to be all broken up and you can't see the full arch.

Not even in Hawaii, the goddamn Rainbow State did I see one.

Y'know, that had never occurred to me. I assumed everyone gets rainbows most weeks.

S'pose it's like my Spanish friends getting all jiggly about the thought of seeing snow.

And tarv, baby. Can't understand how the NL marks lower than caribbean sunsets and stuff. Maybe you just saw crap ones?

A bull elphant charging down a fjord into the sunset would be even better.

With a rainbow overhead.
