Not that I'm opposed to a pretty face on the screen, but the ultra-hip hacker team was an entire waste of film time. They brought nothing to the movie except to make something in a film about battling alien robots somehow still seem implausible.

No, it brought a chick who was f'ucking hot and had an accent to the screen. You've got flea, the rest of us get the silver screen.

Just got back from seeing it.

That was fucking AWESOME!! Easily the best movie since Starship Troopers.

And really..If theres a 'good' use for US military hardware, robot movies is it.

My car seems a bit dull now.....

You may find her hot, but she didn't need to be in this movie, as she added nothing to it. There's plenty of pictures of her online to whack off to if you want.

Seriously, she was shaking the hell out of the distributor cap, and then said it was loose. Also, I like how within seconds of popping the hood she knew what was wrong. VERY unconvincing actress, not to mention she's just really not that good.

We were talking about the blonde uber-hacker, not Megan Fox's character.

I was amused at how a car-savvy chick popped the hood of a hot engine and just started working on the insides with her bare hands.

OOOhhhh oh yess.. ok, sorry about that. Yes, she definately deserved MORE screentime. Not to mention less clothing. Actually, I'd like to make my OWN movie with her.

Another deep question!

Why did Optimus Prime have moving metal lips? I mean, c'mon... he's a freakin' robot!

Because having giant intelligent alien robots that all sound like Stephen Hawking would not be entirely entertaining.

The original Optimus Prime didn't have lips and he still talked!

Of course, Megatron has a mouth in that clips, as do most of the other Transformers, so I'm not really helping my case.

Have a nice day!

I grew up watching Transformers and I'm not ashamed to admit I still do. Of all things from my childhood, I REFUSE to outgrow transformers. LOL

That said, I was very excited to hear this movie was going to be in the works and that it was going to be CG/Live action. I kept up with the site religiously and, like many others I'm sure, was pissed at the blasphemy of Bumblebee not being a Beetle. However, at least they were doing Optimus to look more like the G1 version, albeit a long-nose cab.

With that out of the way, I absolutely LOVED the movie. Though Bumblebee isn't in the body we knew and love, I believe without a doubt the spirit is still there.

If anything, my only complaint about the movie would have to be Jazz. More specificly, his "thuggish" attitude. I'm sorry, I just can't imagine any Autobot, especially Jazz saying "What's up little ************** WTF?

As for sequal material, I definitely think there's going to be another. IIRC, Starscream and Scorpinok were never destroyed. Someone mentioned Unicron, but I highly doubt it. If the movies follow anywhere near the evolution of the series, the next movie will deal with Galvatron. Also, if there is a sequal, I HOPE they have the combining robots like the Constructicons, or perhaps even an appearance by the Dinobots.

All in all, I give the movie a 9 out of 10.

/ruins the movie for everyone

When Optimus gets ready for a fight the mask/mouthguard of cartoon fame pops up over his mouth and he is just as he was back in the 80's.

zomg!

Did he? I didn't notice. The only time I was really looking at his mouth was when the frame was filled with the kid and Optimus's giant-*** head as they held a conversation.

a bit late, I know.. sue me

They definatly tried to keep the spirit alive. The writers must have gotten death threats.

The transforming noise was included once during the first transforming of the helicopter.. To show that they cared..

The VW Bug was shown next to Bumblebee's Camaro to show "Yes, we know he's supposed to be a Bug!! We just couldn't".

LOVED the Hoover/Reverse Engineering thing.

anyone else notice that the scenery inside of the dam was all retro-plain green and 70s-generic looking; JUST LIKE as the dam was shown in the cartoons!? That rocked.

Also the fight between the human kid and the little Decepticon.. some of the same moves seem to be from one of the 1st season episode where Spike is fighting Rumble..

My main beef with the plot is WHY would the Autobots allow the humans to dispose of the Decepticon remains? You see them dumping Megatron in the water.... maybe Ratchet gave the carcasses a once over and gave the humans the OK?

I need to see it again.. I'm sure there is a treasure trove of tributes to the original.
"Roll Out"
"One shall stand One shall fall"
"You've failed me yet again, Starscream"

BRILLIANT!

Many time when a movie is based on the cartoon... the writers seem to know NOTHING about the original and create some way-off alternate reality for the universe.... You can really tell that these guys tried to please the old schoolers.

I also like how Prime descibes them as "Autonymous Robots"(ie Autobots) concidering that it wouldn't make much sense to call themselves Autobots because of the Automobile word... concidering they weren't cars before...

All in all, best movie I've seen in theaters in a while.. BUT
I still thing the original animated Transformers: The Movie was better.
