From your reactions it sounds like how Independence Day was received when it first came out. Is that accurate?

All I want to know. Was Starscream a badass or no?
#32 Jul 05 2007 at 10:07 PM Rating: Good
I think Starscream was pretty badass, except that he didn't really get enough dialog.

None of the decepticons did, which was really my only problem with the movie.

I used to play with Transformers when I was a kid, and they were awesome!

BUT I WAS 9 YEARS-OLD !!!!

When I saw that thread in the OOT, I thought "Aw, they're cute, those kids". And now it's in the Asylum?!

I know it's shadow that started it but still.

Robots transforming into robots.

Come on...

I bet you do not even own a pocket protector.

For those of you complaining I'll slap a spoiler label on my post. But really you all are smart people. You knew the ending already. You've already seen the formula for this type of movie more than five times over with Spider-man, Fantastic Four, etc. There is no other possible conclusion to the movie.

its a bussiness.

if it makes money, there will be another. if it doesnt, there wont. this is the type of entertainment people want. shallow, easy to watch, and just plain fun.

i cant beleive anyone is really trying to analyze the plot. bad robts destroy, good robots protect, humans in da middle. same as with any other superhero movie. if you didnt know that going in, well, your just not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

gona go see it again and i dont do that often.
#36 Jul 06 2007 at 3:36 PM Rating: Decent
just the special effects alone make it worth going to see. Not a single person I've come across denounces it. (for fear of being beaten)

I got to see it for free. I get ot see it for free again tomorrow(twice if I want, use my weekly employee free pass for one, and there's a special midnight employees only screening of it tomorrow night), and i get to see it free as many ******* times as I want until it's out of theatres.

Just came home from seeing it. It was good times -- much better than Spiderman 3 in my opinion, as far as summer hits go.

Megatron could have been done better. Okay, so they didn't want him to turn into a pistol for Starscream, fine. But he really just looked like a heap of scrap metal with a face on it.

I also have a hard time imagining Starscream going out of his way to rescue Megatron since Starscream ambitions were always to rule the Decepticons. Truer to for, Starscream would subtlely try to sabotage the Megatron rescue, fail, then be all "Oh! Hey! Megatron! I was... uh... just on my way to rescue you! Glad you're okay, boss!" Then Megatron would threaten to kick his *** and stuff.

And, no, that didn't affect my enjoyment of the film. But you can't not do a compare and contrast if you grew up with the cartoon and playing with the toys.

Out of all the dinosaurs, race cars, guns, jets, and other cool **** that the Transformers could turn into, you liked the yellow VW named Bumblebee?

Good thing you just got married Nancy Twinklepants.

Maybe he realized they would need Megatron in their upcoming battle, and he'd still be able to kill him during the chaos if he wanted. Or maybe his treacherous tendencies were just beginning to develop. He did abandon them at the end anyway.

Alright, that's as much effort as I'm willing to expend debating Transformers.

Another deep question!

Why did Optimus Prime have moving metal lips? I mean, c'mon... he's a freakin' robot!

If he didn't my slash fiction with Bumblebee would be a lot less entrancing.

As for Starscream, to be a kill joy, aiding Megatron behooved him at that point in time. The cube is powerful enough that it would secure Starscream's place as a Decepticon leader were he to ***** Megatron out of his prize. Additionally not coming to assist would make for one very annoyed Megatron, who I hear is not too kind to no shows.

It wasn't a hologram, it was a heat activated insignia...
Duh.

For the sake of the redcoats who won't be able to see this until the 27th, I'll block this out.

I think I read somewhere that Starscream participated in the airstrike on Megatron. Sounds like a good reason to watch the movie again to make certain of this, no?
