rocked. granted the plot was a bit lame, the charatcers a bit over acted and cliche. but the special effects just flat out rocked. just enough mush to add to the exceitment, but not enough to turn your stomach like spiderman.

nice work. THATS why we watch sci-fi instead of soap operas.

It did in fact rock.

A summer popcorn action flick with no pretensions of greatness, just balls to the walls action and flawless special effects. Which is actually what made it great.

Seeing it this weekend with the free passes we received when the IMAX theater fucked up Spiderman 3. This won't be on IMAX but it'll be free!

The balls to walls action that came after the Herbie remake?

It had much better action scenes than any other movie of the year, but I do not believe it is actually possible for a movie to succeed (well ok maybe financially succeed) on action alone in much the same way that you can not have a good movie based solely on the quality of its make-up or lighting.

I can stand weak stories and I can stand nonsensical stories, but not when both are put together. After the cube was found their is no reason a slow, frail human should be ferrying it away instead of a gargantuan robot that transforms into a vehicle capable of exceeding 140 mph.

I also believe they tried to do too much to make it appeal to a larger audience. They had very forced comedy, love sub plot, drama, and epic movie tones. Were it just an all out action movie with a passable story I would have enjoyed it.

*****, *****.

Special effects and action can't be argued, they are flawless.

Storywise it is on an entirely different level than any of the ***** that has been coming out for the past couple years. Spiderman 3, Pirates 2/3, Superman Returns etc. Obviously not the Godfather but does a good job. As for the kid running the cube, well lets just blame that one on wizards and leave off any nerdy debates about minutae.

-------------------------------------------------------------

1. it WAS an all out action movie.
2. plausible? ROFL, like spidermane you mean? or fantastic four? or how about die hard where he rolls out of a car going fast enough to launch it up into a helicopter without any broken bones?

there is no "plausible" in sci-fi. nor in most if not all action flicks.

say it, you just dont like robots.

and herbie has nothing on bumblebee. oh wait, mabe you a FORD FAN, hahahaha, that would explain it.

i ill say, my bros wife wanted to walk out, she just couldnt stand it anymore. i was smart enough not to bring my wife. it was every teen boys dream, adn most mens dream. a super bad **** butt kicking car and a super fine looking babe who LIKED bad **** cars. /shiver....someone hold me.

hope they make another.

I absolutely totally completely loved this movie. Special effects didn't overpower the movie, which is a factor that I always look for. Only complaint that I have is I wish that the fight between Megatron and Optimus Prime was more intense.

And I wanted to cry when Bumblebee got captured by Sector 7.

I don't want to ruin anyone's experience by debating the quality of this movie in the thread. I think it's one of the better movies this year to take a family or group of friends to, probably the second best after pirates. Hope IMAX does not ***** you a second time Jophiel.

I liked it. I walked in with the only expectation that it had to be better than the '86 Transformers: The Movie flick, and it was.

A nicely spent couple of hours, and with it pulling in 27.4 million dollars, the biggest ever for a Tuesday opening, we can probably expect to see a sequel sometime in the future.

At the end of the movie you see Starscream (the F22) fly off and escape. Those who know a little bit about transformers know that Starscream is a very important character and famous for his treachery. That he had so little of a part in this movie seems to be a cue that the next will center around him a little more. He will likely take on the role as leader of the Decepticons in the absence of Megatron.

F'uck you.

Not cool.

There is always Unicron...Starscream could be flying off to find him. Thus bringing about Megatron's return as Gavaltron.

The movie was a lot of fun. It is a movie based on an 80's cartoon about robots from another planet that can transform after all.

Bewbs that transform into a Chevy Nova?

An Earth Digger that converts into a Wonderbra?

A Commodore 64 that transforms into a 40DD cleavage?
(I knew that would get Jophiel all hot and sweaty)
