That Kobayashi lost?

I still maintain that while Joey Chestnut may be the greatest hot dog eater right now, Kobayashi remains the all-time greatest for how he revolutionized the sport.

This is important, people.

Ugh, wisdom tooth surgery? Thinking back to those horrid gaps in my gums and then adding in shoveling hotdogs down... *shudder*

It most absolutely is important. In fact, I'd go so far as to say Kobay is the most underrated athlete of this generation, and his sports related jaw injury is the equivilent of Mary Decker falling during the 1984 Olympics. Devastating, man, just devastating.

Not sad at all, I think he was hyping the injury. People react different ways to dentistry but a day after I had all four wisdom teeth pulled I was in zero pain eating or talking or anything. And his story changed, seems suspicious.

Also go by the performance--he got the 2nd most dogs down ever, only beaten by the most ever. He set his personal record today. Aside from the reflux at the end he looked in top form.

I was pulling for Chip though, his little dance as he walked in was totally awesome.

I saw it right before dinner on a large-screen TV at the local golf club, and actually did experience a brief pang of loss. Then I was hungry again.

And if he does... do all those unchewed hot dogs come tumbling out?

Sad? Mark me as proud.

Yes, because today, being the day after a day off, is comparable to a Monday. That makes the second one this week.

I like hot dogs, specially in the summer. Watching them contests really ruins the whole hot dog eating experience.
